Dr. Bailey was wonderful with our new baby. Great communication and bedside manner. The tech was good too - just a bit vague in her communication style. It was our first time to the clinic so we don’t know the way things are done.Show more For example, we had to change the baby’s diaper and asked what we should do. She gave us a bag and said we were “welcome to throw it away” - but did she mean take it with us or that there was a trash can somewhere? We figured bring it home but were a bit confused by the vague language :) Had a similar experience with a tech at the Sellwood location - not very generous or clear communication towards two brand new parents on their first visit to the clinic.
Dr. Oldread is excellent in terms bedside manners. My impression is that she is a very good and caring doctor. This was our first meeting and visit. A little surprised we did not talk about nutrition or sleep. Our first interfacShow moree with the nurse was pretty unfriendly. There was no greeting or introduction of names. She just asked my child to get on the scale. Nurse was competent but did not seem to enjoy children or love her job. My child and I were left to do the hearing test alone on a tablet. I am a bit surprised there’s no human monitoring of the test to read facial expression or body language to support the assessment. My child was nervous using the tablet and made a couple of error and was upset.

Katie Oldread, MD, FAAP is a trusted physician and an expert in a wide range of pediatric care at Sellwood Medical Clinic, which has three locations in Portland, Oregon. Dr. Oldread grew up just of the north of Boston. She attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, earning her bachelor's degrees in biology and psychology. She then joined the Peace Corps, serving as a community health worker in Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Oldread went on to Harvard Medical School in Boston for her medical training and completed her residency in pediatrics at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
Dr. Oldread joined the Sellwood Medical Clinic team in 2012 and has since become a leading pediatrician in the Portland area. When she is not working, she is often out exploring nature or throwing epic living room dance parties with her three children.

Dr. Katie is a gem. She talks to my child, the patient, clearly and explains what’s happening. She even used Spanish with my daughter to make her feel comfortable. Both of my young girls see her and I would highly recommend.
