Dr. Helms and this entire practice are amazing! This is our first baby, and I booked an appointment with Dr. Kelly Helms after a recommendation from a client. From the moment I walked in the door the front office staff was so frShow moreiendly! The MA that took us back to the room was sweet, and then we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Helms. She took time to talk with us and didn’t make us feel rushed. She was so knowledgeable and just had a calm, personable way about her and I felt like I could talk to her about anything. The office itself was clean and organized. Also, there are no NPs, so you always see your physician! I just cannot say enough positive things!
As always, the staff and Dr. Helms were professional and it was a great experience. I highly recommend this office. However, I would like to see Dr. Offices add a "Nickname" field to their databases. Going to a doctor is an intimaShow morete experience and one where you can feel vulnerable. Quite a few people do not go by their formal name. It can be very upsetting in these circumstances to constantly be called by the wrong name. Even this email for the survey came to the wrong name. It is the fault of the system and as someone who has overseen a number of website builds, I can say it is a relatively easy fix. Thank you for your consideration.
Meet Dr. Helms
Kelly Helms, MD, is an esteemed obstetrician and gynecologist currently providing compassionate care to adolescent and adult women at Arizona Women’s Care in Scottsdale, Arizona. She works alongside her four friends and colleagues to offer the latest treatments and diagnostic technology available and achieve the best possible health outcomes for all patients.
Dr. Helms began her education at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in microbiology and a second bachelor’s degree in agriculture science in bioresource research. She also earned a minor in the Japanese language from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
After finishing her undergraduate education, Dr. Helms earned her medical degree from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, Nevada. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, for her residency training at Maricopa Medical Center, where she served as chief medical resident in her final year. Afterward, she completed a fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Throughout her education and career, Dr. Helms has explored a diverse variety of research interests, including robotic surgery, hepatitis B in pregnant women, and gonorrhea. She has also published and presented a video titled “Critical Considerations for the Vaginal Trachelectomy.”
Currently, Dr. Helms is an active member of the American Medical Association and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a central representative of the Phoenix OB/GYN Society.
At Arizona Women’s Care, Dr. Helms frequently performs minimally invasive surgeries to treat complications like fibroids and endometriosis. She also provides patients with services like annual well-woman exams and birth control counseling.

Excellent communication from setting up appointment to reminders, to getting there. Dr Helms spent time understanding my problem and creating a plan to fix it. As a side note, she was able to get a utertine lining biopsy that other health care providers could not. Relatively pain free too. So glad she will be my surgeon! Staff excellent too.

This office is beautiful. The staff great you with a smile and make you feel at home. The sonographer was so kind and compassionate. The medical assistant went above and beyond setting up appointments for me and handling my concerns. Dr Helms is the most kind and caring doctor I have met. She is the best Obgyn I have ever gone to. I am so glad that I switched to her from my previous Obgyn. She was kind and if your decision in life is to not have kids she respects that decision unlike Dr. Heathcott. Absolutely would recommend!

Dr Helms is absolutely wonderful! She is so personable and takes the time to get to know you and your medical needs. We were very fortunate to have her deliver our beautiful healthy baby boy. It’s also a bonus that everyone in the office is very kind. I won’t go anywhere else :)
