Dr. Smith was amazing! My 18 month old son was recently diagnosed with asthma, he's been hospitalized, been to urgent care and has seen an allergy/asthma doctor in the last few months. Dr. Smith was the first doctor to sit down wiShow moreth my husband and I and make sure we understood what asthma does, how the different medications help and made sure we knew how to use the inhaler correctly. I walked out of the office today feeling confident about my son's treatment and course of action for the first time since all this asthma stuff started several months ago. And he works great with kids, my son didn't cry at all with him, not something I can say very often when it comes to doctors visits for my son. Thank you to Dr. Smith and all his staff! We are looking forward to continuing my son's care with them
Dr smith was running late which sounds like that’s normal for the time that our appointment was. The Hispanic nurse with the brown straight hair was very rude. Never gave me an update. I had to come out of the room after waitinShow moreg in there for an hour and ask for an update. She rudely told me it would be another 40 minutes or I could see someone else whom I don’t know and turned her head and continued with her personal conversation with the other staff. Coming from the medical field I understand the backup of appointments with sick patients but it’s unacceptable to be rude and not give clients updates!!!!! I’m so disappointed in this practice.
Kelly Smith, MD, specializes in pediatric pulmonology and sleep medicine, and is a co-founder of Texas Pediatric Specialties and Family Sleep Center in the Alamo Heights, Shavano Park, and Lockhill-Selma areas of San Antonio, Texas. He has achieved fellowship designation in four areas of medical practice to include sleep medicine, pediatrics, pediatric pulmonology, and internal medicine.
A New Braunfels native, Dr. Smith earned his undergraduate degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and remained in the state to complete his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He refined his skills and knowledge through an internship and residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, where he was also appointed chief resident of internal medicine and pediatrics.
Fellowship training in pediatric pulmonology at Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston came next, followed by research and training in sleep medicine through the Texas Children’s Sleep Center in San Antonio.
Dr. Smith went into private practice in 2007 and worked with his partners to open Texas Pediatric Specialties and Family Sleep Center in 2009. He enjoys working collaboratively to offer the highest possible level of care in pediatric pulmonology and adult/pediatric sleep medicine.
When not working with patients, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Flyfishing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, and soccer keep him outdoors and active, and he tries to take advantage of all that the San Antonio area has to offer.

We love Dr Richards and Amy Duncan. We love how they listen and actively involve our special needs child in his assessments. I love how compassionately they care & the attention to detail. We are grateful and blessed to have our child in some of the best hands!
Ms. Duncan is so professional and allows you to verbalize your childs needs. So far she has addressed every concern we have had when it comes to ny daughter. Really happy with the care she gives.
We love Dr. Smith and the care he shows our little ones. He had a great action plan for their asthma that has been life changing for them. Highly recommend him to anyone suffering with asthma or allergy induced issues.
The employees are so easy and sweet with my child. Dr Duncan played with and listened to our issues and ha e worked hard trying different resolutions for the issue. I would defiantly recommend this location, employees and dr.
