Dr Pugar was very direct with his assessment, and clearly stated that I have no signs of dementia. This was a follow up that I requested based on minor concerns of memory issues. He diagnosed that my biggest issue is anxiety, whiShow morech is likely responsible for minor memory lapses. He stated if I have any concerns in the future, he wants me to make another appointment for basic memory testing. And he recommended that I request a different drug from primary care MD to treat anxiety. Also suggested exercise, yoga, walking to manage anxiety. Really trust his assessment, and highly recommend him to anyone struggling with these issues.
Listened to my history with neuropathy issues over the past 3-4 years. Asked questions that had never been asked before. Explained different types of neuropathy to be considered. Did some simple tests to narrow it down to make a dShow moreiagnosis. Recommended a follow up plan of action with a test to better determine the severity of my condition and PT to help with my balance issues. Was very glad the plan didn’t include more medication. Scheduled the follow up test and an appointment to review my progress and results of test results. I was very pleased with the appointment.
Kenneth Pugar, DO, MBA, dFACN, is a board-certified neurologist at the Dayton Center for Neurological Disorders (DCND), which helps staff locations in Centerville, Beavercreek, Springfield, Eaton, Wilmington, Hillsboro, and Vandalia, Ohio. Dr. Pugar is the founder and president of DCND and works at the Centerville and Beavercreek offices. Over the years, he’s established DCND as one of the premier neurology practices in the state.
Dr. Pugar studied at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, earning his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, also in Pennsylvania, and obtained a Master of Business Administration. Then, Dr. Pugar enrolled at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pennsylvania, graduating with his Doctor of Osteopathy.
Dr. Pugar also completed residency training at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Pugar diagnoses and treats various neurological disorders, but he has a special interest in Alzheimer’s disease/dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Pugar always puts patients first. He never rushes appointments and has a compassionate bedside manner, allowing him to build strong and trusting relationships with patients.
Dr. Pugar regularly participates in continuing education to keep his skills sharp. He stays abreast of neurology advances and works as a principal investigator for research trials focused on neurodegenerative disorders.
He also enjoys sharing his knowledge with others. He’s a teacher and mentor in the residency program at Kettering Health Dayton in Ohio (formerly Grandview Medical Center).

I enjoyed meeting Dr. Pugar and while he didn't diagnose what my symptoms may be yet..we had an intelligent conversation and he ordered a few scans..the first of which is currently scheduled for 11/10. In the interim..I dropped off copies of recent scans that had been ordered by other Doctors while I was in ER treatment. Hopefully he will get to review that information? My general reaction to our appointment was I felt lucky I had been assigned to the right Doctor?
Had EMG testing done by dr Pugar and his staff. They were very welcoming and very efficient in their testing. Dr Pugar explained the results and further treatment needed. Took time to answer my questions. Overall a very good experience
