I became a patient of Dr. Youngren when my PSA results came back elevated. I dont think I could have fiund a better urologist anywhere. Dr Youngren Is a kind and caring doctor. He took the time to explain all of the alternatives tShow moreo me regarding approaches to handle my Prostate Cancer. We settled on an approach and 10 years later My PSA is still Within normal range. I have complete confidence in Dr. Youngren. You have been to other doctors practices recently, you may feel as though your in a factory production line. This is not the case when you visit his office. The staff members are always polite and helpful And throughout the entire experience, you are never ever rushed in and out the door. About Advanced Urology
Kjell Youngren, MD, brings nearly 20 years of urology experience to Advanced Urology in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. In addition to general urology, he is skilled in treating chronic pelvic pain, overactive bladder, kidney stones, incontinence, and urologic cancers. He frequently performs painless, in-office, no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren graduated Bowdoin College summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French. He also trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Youngren interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
Dr. Youngren is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association. He loves the challenges of community clinical practice and enjoys solving complex problems. His goal is to give relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, Dr. Youngren was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness. When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches. In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.

Dr Youngren is a great doctor who cares about his patients health and wellbeing. He takes all the time you need for him to explain your condition and is very personable and professional.
I don’t know what the problem was with this doctor. I had picked him because he had very high ratings. I was totally dissatisfied with his lack of listening to what I had to say he had Asked me questions and almost every time I started to answer He was very rude and talked over me. I finally had to ask him not to do that after the fourth time, he also Was trying to intimidate me multiple times, and when he was lecturing me on his protocol for his office, I feel was very unprofessional. His intake form, especially patient previous history is not set up to where he could look at it and understand what was going on with me In a very organized manner. If you want to be treated like a child and Have intimidation techniques Put upon you on an already stressful situation then I would suggest that you see this doctor otherwise stay far far away
