Having come from another overly booked urologist. I saw Dr. Youngren at my wife’s suggestion. She was already a patient and spoke very highly of him. I can honestly say it was worth it to switch. He made sure my testing was done oShow moren time and was there for me from my initial cancer diagnosis, through the robotic surgery, and into the follow ups and after care! I would and have made high recommendations to family and co-workers to make him their urologist! Everyone should expect and receive quality care! This you will receive not only from Dr. Youngren, but from his staff as well! Also, if you do opt for the robotic surgery, ask for Dr. Ben Taylor as well! These two make a fantastic team!
I am the type to normally leave a review, but with my experience at this practice I have to leave a review. Let’s start with making an appointment: it was easy to schedule my son circumcision with Dr. Youngren as this type of surShow moregery has a long waiting period. I was able to get my son schedule asap. The front staff was kind and courteous. On the day of the appointment we was greeted in a polite way. Dr. Youngren was kind and friendly, he informed us of what was going to happen and how we was supposed to care for the procedure after surgery. As parents we were satisfied with the Dr and how he carried out his work.
About Advanced Urology
Kjell Youngren, MD, brings nearly 20 years of urology experience to Advanced Urology in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. In addition to general urology, he is skilled in treating chronic pelvic pain, overactive bladder, kidney stones, incontinence, and urologic cancers. He frequently performs painless, in-office, no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren graduated Bowdoin College summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French. He also trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Youngren interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
Dr. Youngren is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association. He loves the challenges of community clinical practice and enjoys solving complex problems. His goal is to give relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, Dr. Youngren was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness. When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches. In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.
