Dr. Youngren is unique in our current healthcare arena. He took the time to explain medical complexities in a relaxed, unhurried manor. He was thorough, quite knowledgeable, and weighed and discussed different treatment options thShow moreoughtfully and openly. His staff is friendly and competent. My experience over all, was quite positive. The only negative thing I can think of is the long wait to see him, which was not an issue in my case.

Kjell Youngren, MD, brings nearly 20 years of urology experience to Advanced Urology in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. In addition to general urology, he is skilled in treating chronic pelvic pain, overactive bladder, kidney stones, incontinence, and urologic cancers. He frequently performs painless, in-office, no-scalpel vasectomies.
Dr. Youngren graduated Bowdoin College summa cum laude, with honors in chemistry, and a double major in French. He also trained at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. Dr. Youngren interned in general surgery at the University of Southern California and completed his urology residency at UMDNJ-NJ Medical School, where he was the recipient of several awards for teaching and research.
Dr. Youngren is board certified by the American Board of Urology and an active member of the American Urological Association. He loves the challenges of community clinical practice and enjoys solving complex problems. His goal is to give relief, knowledge, and comfort to his patients and their families.
The son of two veterinarians, Dr. Youngren was raised with a love of nature, animals, the outdoors, and a deep sense of compassion and kindness. When not working, he enjoys spending family time with his wife and four children, hiking, reading, cooking and eating spicy food, collecting vintage jazz, soul, reggae and salsa records, building hi-fi equipment with vacuum tubes, and collecting vintage mechanical watches. In addition to English, Dr. Youngren speaks Spanish and French.

Dr. Youngren has been my urologist of choice for over 12 years. I drive an hour and a half to get to his office and it’s worth every minute of the drive to get the care of that I receive from the good doctor and his office staff he has managed my kidney stone issues extremely well and I have had little issue since beginning our relationship.
