Dr. Peterson credits his foundational training in Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine for developing his sensitive palpatory diagnostic skills which he uses to locate the source of pain.
Following medical school, Dr. Peterson lived in Miami, Florida for a year, where he completed a traditional osteopathic rotating internship at Westchester General Hospital. He completed his residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Georgetown University Hospital/National Rehabilitation Hospital program in Washington, DC. Dr. Peterson completed his American Council of Graduate Medical Education-accredited Pain Medicine fellowship training at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. Following this, he joined the teaching faculty as an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, teaching fellows and residents while working at the Hunter Homes McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center.
