I called Dr. Kacmar today to setup an appointment to see if he would accept me as a Primary Care Patient after failing with several other Primary Care Physcians who took 2 to 3 weeks to see when you had a cold or the flu. Not onlyShow more did he take me the same day to deal with high blood pressure concern he also accepted my wife who did not have an appointment to clear up a wax build up in her ear that her Primary Care Dr. did not have time to take care of the previous day. Plus he stayed past office hours to stick with it to clear up the problem. Dr. Kacmar would get 100 stars from me if you had room. Additionally his staff is super friendly with the most efficient check process with scanning iPads to scan cards and patient touch pad for history.
I have been going to Dr. Kacmar for 20+ years. I went to him originally as he was sports-focused. I was a college athlete and he resolved some corresponding chronic issues. But I stayed because he is a phenomenal doctor. My wife aShow morend kids all go to him as well. As any of us have health challenges...he resolves them. He is thoughtful and logical and a problem solver. So he doesn't simply provide a "rote" diagnosis, rather he digs in to address the issue and the root cause. I trust him implicitly. Of note, he was the rare doctor actually treating COVID, with zero fatalities and thousands treated, using methods which are now being validated by medical journals as the proper approach. This is a good guy and I consider myself fortunate to have him, and his practice, as our primary care source.
Dr. Lawrence Kacmar, MD
Dr. Kacmar is an independent family physician who is board-certified in both primary care and sports medicine. A former collegiate football athlete and active adult, Dr. Kacmar recognizes the value of preventing and treating sports injuries from the young school age athlete through the aging adult. With a focus in primary care, Dr. Kacmar is able to care for all ages from routine medical care, preventative exam or acute care needs. Dr. Kacmar remains an admitting physician at Edward Hospital.
Dr. Kacmar's practice interests include orthopedic injuries, critical illness, acute illnesses, acute injury, and patients who are chronically ill seeking a diagnosis. Dr. Kacmar's years of experience and dedication to the continued study of medicine have allowed him to have a holistic approach and updated knowledge of evidence-based working practice.
Dr. Kacmar attended Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency in family medicine at West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois. His fellowship in sports medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois. He has remained Medical Director for The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine since 2002. He continues to remain committed to future physicians as a preceptor for Loyola University.
Shannon Keith, RN-MSN, MHA
Shannon Keith joined The Center for Primary Care and Sports Medicine in 2012. Shannon has enjoyed running for most of her life and continues to participate in long distance running. Shannon's practice interests include athlete functional training, weight management, preventative medicine, diabetes and inflammatory disorders for all gender and ages, as well as, perimenopause, menopause and post menopause women conditions. Shannon believes in a holistic approach to medicine and utilizing nutrition, exercise and supplements alone or in combination with pharmaceuticals.
Shannon holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in Health Care Administration from Grand Canyon University and Master of Science in Nursing from Marquette University. She continues to support education and the development of future nurses as an adjunct professor at Aurora University.

Seeing Dr. Kacmar is always a great experience. He is a terrific doctor, very thorough and caring. I was there for a routine follow up visit. He checked me over carefully and also ordered standard blood work me. He stays on top of my condition and I am extremely satisfied and happy he's my doctor.

Dr. Kacmar takes time to get to know his clients individually and cares about my wellness. In the understanding that he would like to provide all of his patients with the same care there can be times where there is a wait. It is a huge bonus that Dr. Kacmar has a lab on site to get lab work done during a visit.

Dr. Kacmar is a PCP who actually cares about their patients. It was my first visit for a physical. He took time to answer all my questions and was very helpful with my health inquiries.I never had the feeling he’s trying to rush me out.
Dr. Kacmar has been able to diagnose and provide me with effective and doable pathways to a healthier life, which also gives me a much better quality of life (my past PCP could not accomplish this). Areas that i experienced constant pain, for example, in my joints and losing my ability to do the simplest things, well those simplest things or daily tasks have become much easier with minimal changes to my lifestyle. The only downside is that i didn't find Dr. Kacamar many years ago. Additionally, his nursing and front desk professionals put you at ease. Never much of a wait time either.

I'm glad to have Dr Kacmar, as my primary care physician. I found him during the chaos of covid and happy that he provided early treatment for covid. My previous PCP at Duly provided nothing when I got covid, except to say there was nothing they could do for me, unless I was I a hospital.
The visit was very good. Blood work was done professionally and the test result were quick.
