Excellent visit with Dr. Buffaloe! Short wait prior to visit! Dr. Buffaloe was well prepared for my visit having reviewed my major health concerns and X-ray prior to coming into the examining room! He greeted me with confidence aShow morend joy and he listened carefully while i gave him details! He engaged in the conversation and together we set up the course of action to take on my medical Concerns! He did not rush me ! Dr. Leon Buffaloe, Jr. was born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. At 18, he left home to serve his country as an Army Combat Medic. During 12 years of active duty, Dr. Buffaloe served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope, as well as during the Iraq War. After his tour to Somalia, he was accepted into the Army’s Licensed Practical Nurse Program and continued working across various areas of Nursing.
Dr. Buffaloe obtained a degree with Cum Laude honors in Biological Studies from the University of South Carolina in 2004 and went on to graduate from the University’s School of Medicine in 2008.
After graduating and completing his residency at Palmetto Health Richland—now PRISMA Health Richland—he went to work as a physician with SELF Regional in Laurens, SC and eventually moved to Simpsonville to help open a clinic for PRISMA Health Upstate. Dr. Buffaloe felt led to take his 30+ years of healthcare experience to build Grace Internal Medicine, an independent practice with an affiliate partner in MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina).
With a comfortable and approachable environment, Grace Internal Medicine welcomes community members from all over the Upstate, all of whom can be expect to be treated with the utmost respect. Meeting his wife while on tour in Honduras in 1999, Army Surgical technologist, Asante, now Family Medicine Physician, have four kids Dominique, Nicholas, Leon III, and Naomi - along with a beagle named CJ! In his downtime, Dr. Buffaloe enjoys time with his family, and working in his church.

Dr. Buffaloe explained the results of some tests and helped me make a decision on next steps— something a specialist I saw had not done. He responded quickly to my question, and a televisit was set up in a few days. I appreciate his responsiveness, his knowledge and his kindness.

Dr. Buffaloe is very knowledgeable and listens patiently. His registration desk personnel are extremely friendly and helpful. The triage nurse if very pleasant, very knowledgeable, and very responsive. I highly recommend Grace Internal Medicine to anyone. The practice was quick to respond for a much-needed appointment.

Always professional, always care about his patients. Well, being allow you to ask questions, and he gives precise answers very knowledgeable. With a staff that is very polite, nice and professional. I would recommend this doctor to any friend or relative of mine. Because he cares.
Great bedside manners but my elderly mother felt rushed through her appointment. Remember....quality over quantity.
