Dr. Leon Buffaloe, Jr. was born in Washington, DC and raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland. At 18, he left home to serve his country as an Army Combat Medic. During 12 years of active duty, Dr. Buffaloe served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope, as well as during the Iraq War. After his tour to Somalia, he was accepted into the Army’s Licensed Practical Nurse Program and continued working across various areas of Nursing.
Dr. Buffaloe obtained a degree with Cum Laude honors in Biological Studies from the University of South Carolina in 2004 and went on to graduate from the University’s School of Medicine in 2008.
After graduating and completing his residency at Palmetto Health Richland—now PRISMA Health Richland—he went to work as a physician with SELF Regional in Laurens, SC and eventually moved to Simpsonville to help open a clinic for PRISMA Health Upstate. Dr. Buffaloe felt led to take his 30+ years of healthcare experience to build Grace Internal Medicine, an independent practice with an affiliate partner in MUSC (Medical University of South Carolina).
With a comfortable and approachable environment, Grace Internal Medicine welcomes community members from all over the Upstate, all of whom can be expect to be treated with the utmost respect. Meeting his wife while on tour in Honduras in 1999, Army Surgical technologist, Asante, now Family Medicine Physician, have four kids Dominique, Nicholas, Leon III, and Naomi - along with a beagle named CJ! In his downtime, Dr. Buffaloe enjoys time with his family, and working in his church.

Gracious, caring and respectful environment where health care practitioners are knowledgeable, and empathetic. These folk take the time to listen to what a patient tell them and then do their best to address your most urgent need. Service that other establishment could emulate/copy. Give them a call and see for yourself!
Staff is very friendly and supportive. Doctors and nurses are very knowledgeable. Once you leave office just know someone is on standby to support and answer you concerns in a timely manner. Regards

Was having a problem with my heart,but did not know what, my heart rate was all over the place, Dr.Buffaloe, check me good said, iam sending you to the hospital by ambulance. Got there, I had blood in heart. Thank God for Dr.Buffaloe, he is more than a doctor, he is a sent doctor. And his staff is just awesome. God bless you always Dr.Buffaloe and staff.
