Maeve Howard, CNM, MSN, is a Certified Nurse Midwife at Nile Women’s Health Care in Roswell, Georgia, dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive, and evidence-based reproductive health care for people of all backgrounds. She believes that midwifery blends science with intuition, empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their bodies and care.
Originally from Hebron, Connecticut, Maeve brings a small-town sense of connection to her practice in Atlanta, offering a personal touch alongside her clinical expertise. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Nurse-Midwifery from Emory University, where she gained extensive experience in both birth centers and hospital settings. During her training, she managed more than 50 births and cared for patients through pregnancies ranging from routine to high-risk.
Maeve’s clinical interests include prenatal care, physiologic birth support, contraceptive counseling, and trauma-informed gynecologic care. She is especially passionate about equitable access to reproductive health, drawing on her background in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry, as well as Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, at Yale University, where she also conducted independent research on LGBTQ+ reproductive healthcare.
When she’s not caring for patients, Maeve enjoys knitting, crocheting, sewing, and exploring the outdoors through camping and hiking. Her creative and grounded energy helps her foster a calm, empowering environment for every patient she supports.

I called and scheduled my appointment based on the price that was provided to me. I even asked about the price twice to make sure there was no misunderstanding. However, when I arrived, I was given a much higher amount. This was not due to any lack of information or communication on my part — it was disrespectful and highly unprofessional.

Wonderful experience! I’ve seen Heather a few times throughout both of my pregnancies. She’s always incredibly friendly, relatable and knowledgeable. She makes me feel comfortable and takes the time to address any concerns I may have. I really appreciate the extended visits, particularly the closer I get to my due date. I find them very reassuring!

Very personable and understanding
I think I must have caught the office on a bad/extremely busy day. It was brought to my attention that two midwives are leaving and that the Friday before spring break is normally busy. It was a little unsettling seeing this on my second prenatal visit, only because I’m anxious about receiving the quality care I’ve read about from Nile. I am sure everything will be ok, and I trust the practice, but I wanted to express my concern.

You may wait a minute but that’s only because Brittany takes her time with each patient and ensures your questions are answered. I love all the midwives at this practice and recommend them often.
