I’ve been seeing Dr. Ibrahim for about 15 years now, I’ve followed him all over the state after going through 5-6 “pain/rehab” docs for chronic pain management. You won’t find a smarter, more compassionate doctor that really caresShow more about his patients. He’s got all the new training and tech, but he still puts his hands on me during visits and does exams instead of just blindly writing a script and running for the door to the next patient. The staff has always been excellent, though they change sometimes he does a great job of hiring - even old employees come back because they like working with him. One of the most important things - Dr. Ibrahim listens to you and works WITH you, he doesn’t talk at you, he talks with you, then he will try to accommodate your preferences as he realizes that you know what your body feels like best and what works and what doesn’t. I’m thankful that he is not so old that he will retire soon, but he’s experienced enough that I feel comfortable throwing any problem his way and following his advice at this point. Definitely worth driving to him - and be patient. He spends TIME with his patients, so he might run late, but he will also spend the time with YOU. A+ from a very picky person with regard to doctors and low trust in most of them. Ibrahim has my full trust.
The doctor is extremely compassionate and very good at what he does. He makes a patient feel very comfortable through any procedure.. I live in Florida now but I will come up here and he's the only one who can give me my CortizoneShow more shots. I would highly recommend my friends and family, he is a great Dr.
Mahmud Ibrahim, MD, practices at Ascension Spine, Pain, and Sports Medicine in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He holds dual board certification in sports medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation and is fellowship trained in interventional pain management.
When treating patients at Ascension Spine, Pain, and Sports Medicine, his goal is to restore function, reduce pain, and promote an active, healthy lifestyle using conservative measures whenever possible.
Though Dr. Ibrahim treats pain from any cause, his special clinical interests include musculoskeletal medicine, non-operative spine procedures, orthopedics, sports medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and restorative therapy.
In addition to performing the full range of fluoroscopy-guided interventional pain management procedures, he uses diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound. He has extensive skill in minimally invasive procedures such as discectomies and percutaneous tenotomies.
After graduating from the New York University Grossman School of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Ibrahim completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai School (also in New York City). After receiving an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) fellowship, he stayed at Mount Sinai to subspecialize in sports medicine and interventional spine.
Dr. Ibrahim has published several articles on musculoskeletal medicine. He’s also a contributing author in a textbook on how to perform ultrasound-guided injections and the author of a book exploring what causes pain, how to reduce it, and ways to live with persistent pain.
Dr. Ibrahim has provided sideline coverage at football games, captained the medical tents at the New York City marathon, and was a ringside physician for the Golden Gloves of America boxing tournament and professional wrestling.

Seems like a very caring Office!
Dr. Ibraham is very knowledgeable and an excellent caring doctor. His staff is friendly and helpful. Yes, I would recommend this practice.
He explained the reason for having the pain I’ve been going thru.He also suggested a way we can take away that pain. I was very impressed the way the staff handled me and other patients at that office visit.

Dr Ibrahim is amazing. He takes the time to ask how you are feeling. My knee has been painful and he recommends how to help the pain. The treatment I receive always makes my bone on bone knee feel great. If you have any type of joint pain Dr Ibrahim is where to go.

Fantastic staff
I highly recommend Dr. Ibrahim. He is a caring and compassionate doctor who helped to reduce a lot of pain in my cervical and lumbar spine and diagnose another condition. His staff is also caring and always professional and easy to reach with any questions. This practice deserves a 10+ star rating!
