I was happy with the medical care I received. However, I called the office beforehand to verify that they participated in my insurance which is an HMO. I was told they did. When I checked out I had to pay $45 for the eye exam aShow morend almost $200 for the eyeglasses. Later I verified with my insurance and had they been a participating HMO provider I would not have had any co-pay for either of these. The insurance company benefits office advised me she is NOT a participating provider with my insurance. Very disappointed.

Margaret K. Poulos, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Ramirez & Poulos MD, PA, in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida. With over 20 years of experience as an eye doctor, Dr. Poulos is trained in the latest techniques of the industry, enabling her to provide patients with the best service possible.
Dr. Poulos attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where she studied biology. She went on to complete her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She did her internship at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, and her residency training in ophthalmology at Washington University’s visual sciences department.
After completing her medical training, Dr. Poulos worked in private practice at Eye Care Associates in Clayton, Missouri. During this time, she also served as an assistant clinical professor at Washington University’s visual sciences department.
In 1996, Dr. Poulos moved to Florida and became a named partner at Ramirez & Poulos, MD, where she continues to work to this day. She is affiliated with the Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida, and is a fellow at the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Poulos is passionate about providing ophthalmological care to everyone regardless of their financial status. Along with her private practice, she volunteers to run monthly ophthalmology clinics at Grace Medical Home a nonprofit organization for the underserved residents of the community.
In her personal time, Dr. Poulos enjoys gardening to relax and cycling and lifting weights to keep fit.

I found Dr. Poulos very pleasant and competent. She paid close attention to my particular situation and I did not feel rushed. I would recommend her to anyone.
The reception ladies should be a little more discreet. Not talk so loud about other peoples insurance issues. Also a customer was waiting after us. When she got to desk they told her she was late. She was not. They were just taking longer checking us in.
Awesome experience from the from the Front desk to the Technicians checking your eyes to Dr. Poulos giving you the final results. Great results in a relatively short amount of time! Thank you to everyone at Ramirez & Poulos!

Dr. Poulos is a personable, consummate and knowledgeable professional. She assists her patients to obtain the treatment needed and offers reasonable treatment options for patients to choose from. If you find that you have significant vision related issues I would strongly recommend visiting her practice.

Dr. Poulos is caring and proficient. I am extremely happy with the cataract surgery I had two years ago and follow up visits. Would have given 5 stars except for the long wait to be seen for my annual check-up.
