I really appreciate how he is open minded to treating the health problem through natural means such as diet, exercise, etc., instead of just placShow moreing you on medication which in many cases is only a bandage to manage symptoms and not treat the root cause of the illness. I also admire his patience and sincere willingness to help his patients. He is a true asset to Border Clinic.

Mario Salinas, DNP, FNP-C, brings expert skills and sincere dedication to Border Clinic, PLLC located in Laredo, Texas. Dr. Salinas enjoys treating and caring for patients throughout their healing journey, and helping them return to their daily life with excellent health.
Education plays a central part in Salinas’ understanding of nursing’s role in a patient’s healing progress. He began his studies at Texas A&M International University, earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing before completing his studies to become a registered nurse (RN).
Following his path in nursing, Salinas eventually earned his Doctor of Nursing (DNP) in family medicine from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Over the past ten years, he has been working as a nurse in emergency and flight settings, which has helped him to gain insight into a variety of conditions and how to treat them.
Dr. Salinas’ work in pediatric obesity prevention is one of the many health conditions he is passionate about, as well as being his motivation to promote overall wellness in patients of all ages. Other conditions he enjoys treating include diabetes, high blood pressure (hypertension), musculoskeletal conditions and men’s health.
His professional experiences include being an emergency room nurse at Laredo Medical Center and Stat Emergency Center, and being a flight nurse at Air Evac Lifeteam.
For the past three years, he has worked as a family nurse practitioner at Border Clinic, PLLC, helping patients achieve optimal health.
When he’s not assisting patients with their health care, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and being at the ranch with friends and family.
