I've been looking for an internist for quite some time as my long time internist passed away. I must say I'm quite impressed with the doctor and his staff. Doctor Akselrud talks to you not at you. His staff is razor sharp. YesterdShow moreay I was there and had a quite interesting experience. I explained to the nurse about me experiencing a low heart rate while I was on the scale and immediately when I told her what the rate was she got me off the scale and into the EKG scale. I wanted to get my weight as I know I lost some weight. Then the doc came in and we had a lengthy conversation. I like a doctor who asks questions and listens to the answers. I can tell Dr. Akselrud has an empathetic side as he was probing with the questions. I know I found the right doctor. Hopefully I can have the same relationship that I had with my previous doctor. So far so good!!
Dr. Akselrud has been taking care of me for over 15 years. Always responsive to all of my needs and any medical conditions that can and has surfaced. He is deeply empathetic towards his patients and makes them feel like you are paShow morert of his family. His staff is always congenial, empathetic as well, and friendly and extremely professional. Helen, Robina, and Shantel are simply amazing at what they do and make you always feel welcome. I'm so happy I came across Dr. Akselrud years ago. I'm 70 and all I take is vitamins. Hmmm.must be the cate I received from the Dr. and his wonderful staff. And when Jill has seen me when Dr. Akselrud is not available, she has treated me the same way Dr. Akselrud does. Mark Akselrud, MD, is a board-certified Internist, Primary Care Doctor, serving the community of Tamarac, Florida. Dr. Akselrud is specially trained to address a broad range of medical conditions and places a high priority on preventive care, wellness strategies, and health education.
Dr. Akselrud attended Pirogov Russian National Medical University in Moscow, named after Nikolay Ivanovich Pirogov, where he received his medical degree as well as his post-doctoral degree. He furthered his training by completing his residency in emergency medicine at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Care. Continuing his training in the United States, Dr. Akselrud completed his residency in internal medicine at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in northeast Pennsylvania, managing patients for both acute care and psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Akselrud is affiliated with Broward Health Coral Springs Medical Center, as well as University Hospital and Medical Center, where he serves as Secretary and Treasurer on the Executive Committee Board. To the benefit of his patients, he is fluent in both English and Russian. Dr. Akselrud is licensed to practice in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

Exceptional as always! I have been going to Dr. Akselrud since 2004 and he and his staff are nothing but the best! They take the time to listen, research and help you. Dr. Akselrud is the best doctor I’ve had in a long time and I can truly say he is one of the BEST out there! I now live in Orlando and STILL drive down every 3 months to visit him or sooner if needed. He’s the doctor that always gets the answers!

Doctor Ackselrud always listen as you talk to him .he doesn’t rush you like some others Doctors.The only thing I don’t like his waiting area it’s to small and full with patients and I feel it’s over crowded.he needs bigger office.the front desk to close to waiting area and there is not confidentiality with medical Issues. .
