He is a wonderful doctor. I recently had rotator cuff surgery. He explained before it all the details of what I should expect. It was then up to me to make sure that I did what I needed, to insure that the results would happen. ThShow moree outcome of my recovery seems to me to be in my hands. I have a little more than two months to continue to let my body do the rest. If I can do that I believe I will have 100% recovery. As he told me I will have a good shoulder for the rest of my life. I believe him. Billie Trotter
I’ve been having increasing pain with my right knee. Dr. Dean explained that the decision for replacement knee surgery is mine to make. He considers himself conservative and does not push the procedure. However, he explained my “rShow moreeturn on investment” by opting for surgery sooner rather than when I’m older. (I’m in my mid-70s with historically good longevity in my family.) Dr. Dean’s discussion helped me make my decision to have surgery without feeling pushed into doing that.

Dr Dean is an absolute treasure for the Low Country. He thoroughness and understanding of incorporating lifestyle considerations with surgical risks show he wants what is best for the patient (even if surgery may not be the best option)

He explained things and was very knowledgeable about my shoulders after looking at my MRI. Answered my questions well and had a very nice bedside manner. His nurse was pleasant too. I was nervous about getting the US guided cortisone shot and they both put me at ease. So glad I went to him and looking forward to getting better .

Dr. Dean has now replaced both of my knees. There is a reason I returned to him both times I had a terrific outcome! Professional office, lots of preparation, lots of experience and attentive recovery guidance. We are so very lucky to have Dr. Dean on Hilton Head. Darlene Marlowe
Patient focused. Attentive and thorough
Dr. Dean treats you like an intelligent person who should participate in your medical decisions. He has since my first appointment. He has standards. He got me off my few cigarettes a day habit and I have stayed smoke free since 2020. If Osteoarthritis is going to be my primary medical problem as I age, I am so fortunate to have Dr Dean as my partner.
Dr Dean is highly knowledgeable, gave me options on my knee-he listened and heard me! No hesitation in recommending him and this practice!
Dr. Dean is truly a gift to Hilton Head. Listen to him, trust him, and follow his advice. You will be respected, cared for and grateful.
Running out of joints to repair but my good knee is failing and Dr D has agreed to make it # 7 and I am lucky to have met him .
Great doctor. Explains things very well. His replacement work on my left shoulder was flawless.
Dr. Dean has always been thoughtful, informative and patient with both my wife and I. Unfortunately, I inherited many things from my mother, including arthritis. He performed a knee replacement 6 years ago, and he’s scheduled to replace the other one in November. My last visit was for shoulder issues. I would recommend Mark without reservation.
He is very thorough and he doesn't sugar coat anything just plain good doctor!
Great physician. Explains condition, and treatment options clearly.
Most all of the staff is friendly and all are very professional
In my opinion Dr. Dean is the best. He has truly been a blessing to me. He doesn't know this but I nick name him, the Real deal Dean.
