Absolutely Love Dr. Chappell! So will you! I guarantee it! I was referred to her by a friend 15 yrs ago and I never want to change. To have to go to the doctors yr after yr, for something rather uncomfortable, she always make it qShow moreuick & painless, as pleasant as possible. She is so down to earth, you can ask her anything, she is Not a pompous know-it all doctor, that looks at you like “how dare u questn me.” She’s a very sharp cookie, very smart, always full of insight and takes her time with you, never rushing, answering all your questions. She remembers you year after year, and the conversation always picks up where it left off. Seeing her is like visiting a good old friend who keeps an eye on you. I couldn’t ask for a better OBGYN!
A friend referred me to Dr. Chappell over 3 years ago. I feel so blessed for having her has my Ob-Gyn. I simply love her!!! She’s an excellent, outstanding, knowledgeable, resourceful, professional and *very caring* doctor. Her beShow mored side manners are outstanding and you can sense empathy from her at all times. All the staff at the practice are friendly and professional but I have to call out nurse Maria, Dr Chappell’s nurse. Nurse Maria’s one of a kind. She’s just so sweet and kind. I always feel like I am going to a trusted family member for a consult anytime I have an appointment with the practice. Mary L. Chappell, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified OB-GYN who provides the community of Marietta and Woodstock, Georgia with excellent medical care at OB-GYN Associates of Marietta. She was ranked as America’s Top OB-GYN for 2004-2005 by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.
Dr. Chappell graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Florida in Gainesville, where she was inducted into numerous honor societies, including Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Epsilon Delta, and the Golden Key National Honor Society. She stayed at the University of Florida for her medical degree, earning the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement for graduating in the top 10% of her class, as well as membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She completed her residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where she was named Outstanding Intern and Resident of the Year.
Dr. Chappell is currently a member of the Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology Society, the Atlanta Obstetrics and Gynecology Society (where she is a former president), the Cobb County Medical Society, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Chappell served as the Chairman of the OB-GYN department at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Dr. Chappell believes in providing patient care that’s compassionate and inclusive and makes sure to fully discuss medical conditions and treatment options with all of her patients in a direct and sympathetic manner. Outside of work, she likes to run, travel, and spend time with her family and friends, including her husband, Scott, and their two children, Kendall and Connor.

Dr. Chappell was GREAT! I had been using another GYN for over 30 years and he finally retired. I was faced with finding a new doctor. A friend of mine recommended Dr. Chappell and I am so thankful she did. The office staff were so nice, professional, and efficient. Dr. Chappell has outstanding bedside manner and made me feel welcome and relaxed right away. She went over my history in detail and did a exam. I REALLY liked her and have found my new GYN doctor :-)

Dr Chappell is a great doctor and has a fun bedside manner. I have been a patient in this practice for over 30 years and when Dr Espy retired I wasn’t sure about finding a new doc. I am so happy i came to dr c. The practice is efficient and wait times are never very long. I also do not feel rushed during my appointments.
