Wow what a great experience I had at Dr Wachtler today! Firstly, I called in the morning and after I explained I was pretty sure I broke my toe, I was given an appointment in the afternoon. Lovely, caring and professional staff meShow morember right from the start! (Sorry I forgot her name but not her kindness) Then Dr Watchtler appeared ! So impressed with his bedside manner. He was caring, compassionate, a true professional. He explained all my options after taking an x-ray. And of course my tie was broken .
I absolutely LOVE Dr.Wachtler! He was just wonderful! He explained the different options I had for my foot fungus! The office is very beautiful and the staff is very lovely! I was pleasantly surprised about the amazing office! I wShow moreas very happy to hear that my toe fungus was not impossible to be treated! it would just take some time to see results! Matthew F. Wachtler, DPM, FACFAS, is a skilled podiatrist at Cedar Grove Foot & Ankle Specialists. He provides comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Dr. Wachtler graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
After completing his medical education, Dr. Wachtler was trained in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Morristown Medical Center of the Atlantic Health System. During his residency, he was elected chief resident and was extensively trained in both clinical and surgical complex foot and ankle pathologies. He specializes in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, wound care, runners’ pathologies, diabetic foot care, and all aspects of podiatric medicine and surgery. Dr. Wachtler is board certified in foot surgery and is a diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Wachtler also serves as the secretary for the Eastern Division of the New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society and is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Wachtler is currently on staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey, as well as Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey. He stays up-to-date on new techniques and procedures and has contributed to the field through multiple lectures, research projects, and publications. Dr. Wachtler is also proud to be voted Best Podiatrist in “Best of Essex 2018, 2019, 2021, & 2022.”

Amazing dr
Dr. Wachtler explained my foot issue in a very easy to understand manner so that I could initially address it through exercises. He hit all important related problems, listened to my questions and answered these thoroughly. And he was very nice.

I meet Dr.Wachtler back in 2019 when I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in my right ankle. Dr. Wachtler and his staff were most caring as I came to him with a fracture in my foot. He explained the injury to me and my husband, the treatment (walking boot for 3 months) and the positive prognosis. We left his office quite reassured.

I had a great experience with Dr. Wachtler. My foot was painful, and I wasn’t sure why. He took x-rays and we went over them together. He prescribed a corrective boot and I have to say I’ve had no pain.

Excellent staff and doctor
I was really worried an in pain when I walked in. The doctor was very thorough. He explained what he was doing at every step. We looked at my foot X-rays together, and he recommended a walking boot. Last night I slept amazingly well!
