A board-certified dermatologist, Michael J. Dans, MD, PhD, provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care at San Francisco Dermatology in downtown San Francisco near Union Square. He treats all skin conditions, from acne to infections to scarring. By offering personalized care, he helps each patient achieve better skin health and improved appearance.
Dr. Dans received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at the University of California, Davis before earning his combined MD/PhD degree at New York University School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his dermatology residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
As an expert in his field, Dr. Dans has published numerous scientific and medical articles and book chapters about skin diseases and treatments. In addition to being on staff at California Pacific Medical Center, he teaches the next generation of physicians as a volunteer clinical instructor of dermatology at UCSF.
In his free time, Dr. Dans enjoys skiing, hiking, and mountain biking with his family.
