Dr. Michael Garitty, MD

Michael Garitty, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon passionate about helping his patients at the Center for Orthopaedics achieve the best possible results and restoring their quality of life. He practices out of the office in Lake Charles, Louisiana. 

Dr. Garitty is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He went on to earn his doctor of medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans.

He completed an internship in general surgery and an orthopedic surgery residency at Greenville Health System in Greenville, South Carolina. He continued his surgical specialization training by completing an adult reconstruction fellowship at Mississippi Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Jackson, Mississippi. 

Dr. Garitty specializes in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, joint revision surgery, and trauma surgery. Having a trusted reputation of excellent attention and successful outcomes for his patients, he provides each person he sees with the highest level of treatment.
