I’m a new patient and am very impressed and grateful that Dr. Michael Gertsen was available to see me for the first time in his dental office on Labor Day afternoon on emergency basis due to my excruciating toothache. He took X-raShow moreys, cleaned the infection in my problematic tooth and prescribed an antibiotic to help with the infection and pain. He was very professional, knowledgeable and most importantly, he was there for me to do what he can to relieve my pain. I will certainly return to see him and will recommend him to all my family and friends.

Michael Gertsen, DMD, MS is a compassionate and detail-oriented dentist who offers a complete menu of general, preventative, restorative, and cosmetic services to residents living in the greater Broward County area. At FL Dental Spa, his welcoming practice in Lighthouse Point, Florida, Dr. Gertsen is dedicated to improving the oral health and exceeding the cosmetic goals of every patient he treats. His main concern is making patient’s feel comfortable and helping them understand their current condition and future treatment goals.
As someone who grew up in the dental office, Dr. Gertsen developed a passion for dentistry at an early age that continues to be evident in his career: He’s dedicated to continuing education and strives to stay up to date in the latest advancements in dentistry.
Dr. Gertsen obtained both his bachelor’s from the University of Florida in Gainesville, followed by a master’s in Biomedical Science from Florida Atlantic University. He then went on to pursue his degree in dental medicine from Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine in Fort Lauderdale.
Giving back to the community has always been a top priority for Dr. Gertsen. As former president of the Nova Southeastern chapter of Alpha Omega, he helped organize the Oral Cancer Awareness 5K Run and Walkathon. During his time in dental school, he was fortunate enough to take part in two medical mission trips to Jamaica. He continues to be active in the local community as a board member of the Broward County Dental Association.
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Florida Dental Association, the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, Spear Study Club, and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.
