I started working with Michael Grimes shortly after moving to Portland almost three years ago Never before in my life have I had the pleasure of working with a psychiatric professional as knowledgeable, as dedicated, as caring, or as pro-active as Michael Grimes. My life has had ups and downs in these last few years, and having Michael in my corner has provided exactly the support I needed to survive it all-- both as a medical provider and as a human being who truly cares! Thank you, Michael.

Michael grimes has been amazing through this rocky time of finding the best medication for me, he considers all factors and I have full trust in him to provide me the best care. I have hope now for the first time in years that my overall quality of life will improve.
Makes mental healthcare much less harrowing and easier to maintain when you've got a consistent, attendant provider. The system is the system, but Michael makes navigating it all that much easier. 10 stars, would recommend.

Michael Grimes is excellent
I've been seeing Michael Grimes (Synchronous Mental Health) for my psychiatric and mental-health needs for nearly two years now. Having worked with several psychiatric specialists over the past 14 years, I feel I have an informed opinion on the quality of care to be expected. I can honestly say: Michael Grimes is by far the best psychiatric specialist I've ever met. Michael genuinely cares. (Nobody wants to think that such a thing would be rare or hard to come by in the field of psychiatry, but—whether it be through burnout, fatigue, apathy, or a generational/cultural disconnection from their clients—many mental health specialists are not fully present when doing their work.) Michael, however, has consistently treated me with dignity through genuine empathic connection and authentic compassion. He's also a delight to speak with: our sessions are always uplifting and a bright spot in my day, even when other things in my life feel difficult and overwhelming. Michael is highly intelligent and a great communicator. I feel extremely seen and heard during our sessions. He truly LISTENS. He's proactive in his approach, going above and beyond for his patients. Having dealt with significant medical issues in recent years (as well as more than one profoundly traumatic event), few other professionals in my life have been so steadfast in their care, attentiveness, and advocacy on my behalf. Michael has been 'in my corner' through so much. It truly means a lot to me. Thank you, Michael. You rock. And I would be absolutely remiss if I did not talk about the Synchronous Mental Health office staff. You couldn't ask for much more than what you get with Lorey and Jeremy. Michael is fantastic! I’ve been on meds for 25+ years and have seen countless mental health providers during that time. In my experience, Michael is one of the best. He’s very well informed, an excellent listener, and I never feel judged or talked down to. I frequently get severe anxiety about medical appointments but find myself looking forward to my sessions with Michael. I can’t recommend him highly enough!
