"You never get a second chance to make a good first impression." For doctors, the first impression begins before you even meet them. First, the person who answers the phone needs to be professional, happy, helpful, and a good lisShow moretener. Second, the folks at the front desk need to be those, plus efficient, and keep patient informed of delays. Third, the medical assistant/nurse who calls you back to the exam room needs to be all the above, AND introduce themself. Those three impressions can make or break a practice, in my humble opinion. Those are the foundation for the cake. An awesome doc who listens, shows compassion, looks you in the eye, gives you more than 3 minutes, provides all necessary information, has a great bedside manner, and really knows his stuff, that's the icing on the cake. If you find all four of these elements, you've found a medical practice worth something. Dr. Petrocelli and his lovely staff fulfill those elements for me. I've no need to look anywhere else for my foot care. You've made an excellent first impression. Thank you.
I experienced a sharp pain and swelling in my right ankle for 2, or 3 weeks after playing a casual game of pickle-ball. My husband had been a previous patient of Dr. Petrocelli, and pleaded with me to have him take a look, in whiShow morech I did. He saw me almost immediately, recognized the injury, and, thank God no surgery was required. He was wonderful to talk to, and make me understand my injury. Michael J. Petrocelli, DPM, FACFAS, CWSP, is a compassionate board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at Collier Podiatry in Naples, Florida.
Dr. Petrocelli was born and raised in North Providence, Rhode Island, and attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where he earned his Bachelor of Sciences degree in biological sciences. He then received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree (Cum Laude) at the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, before completing a two-year residency in foot and ankle surgery — with an emphasis on diabetic wound care and limb salvage — at Kern Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.
As a physician who understands the importance of staying up to date with the latest advances in his field, Dr. Petrocelli maintains professional memberships with the Society for the Advancement of Wound Care, the American Diabetes Association, and the American, Florida, and Collier County Podiatric Medical Associations. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery (And Board Certified in Foot Surgery) and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American Professional Wound Care Association. Additionally, Dr. Petrocelli routinely gives lectures on diabetes wound and ulcer care to other physicians.
Dr. Petrocelli has been in practice since 1994. He began with a large group practice in Tampa, Florida, before relocating to Naples in 2002 to start his own practice and be closer to his family. He has been happily married for over 30 years and has one child.
All forms of lower extremity treatment, including major and minor foot surgeries, are within Dr. Petrocelli’s scope. In addition to his practice, Dr. Petrocelli is also the staff podiatrist at the Naples Community Hospital Wound Healing Center.

Can’t say enough about Dr. Petrocelli and his entire staff. So glad I made the decision to trust him to take care of the bunion on my foot enabling me to continue to lead an active life. The new and improved surgery had little to no discomfort and a shorter recovery is promised so I can get back to my active life.
