I was first visited by Dr. Shukairy in the hospital after I had been admitted with stroke like symptoms that ended up being a badly pinched nerve in my neck plus a narrowed spinal column. Dr. Shukairy performed surgery on me and aShow morell the pinching has gone away. His manner is wonderful, he listens and gives you honest answers. I hope to never need another surgery again in my lifetime but if I do I know who I am going to see.
I was able to schedule my first appointment the day after I called due to a cancellation. The Dr and his staff were very thorough and I was happy with his advice. My brother is a surgeon so I shared Dr Shukairy’s feedback. My bShow morerother said sounds like you have a really good doctor. He would have advised the same though he is not a neurosurgeon.
Welcome! I am Dr. Mohammad S Shukairy, MD, a board-certified, minimally invasive spine surgeon in Highland and Merrillville, Indiana. I’ve been practicing for more than 10 years, providing superior, minimally invasive spine surgeries to adults of all ages. I speak English, Spanish, French, Yiddish, and Arabic.
I received my medical degree from the University of Toledo College of Medicine in Toledo, Ohio, and completed a residency and internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. I also completed a fellowship at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois.
I treat patients with neck pain, back pain, disc degeneration, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and other spinal conditions that cause deterioration, immobility, and pain. I specialize in minimally invasive and outpatient spine surgery, including non-fusion spinal surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, disc replacement, and generalized spine care.

The doctor explained to me the procedure before and after the surgery. He checked on me every morning before discharged, always ending with “ do you have any questions or concerns”.
