Dr. Mohit Jindal is a board-certified Gastroenterologist at Richmond Gastroenterology Associates. Dr. Jindal sees patients at the Westchester office in Midlothian, Virginia.
Dr. Jindal was born in Punjab, India, and grew up in New Delhi. He attended Maulana Azad Medical College in New Delhi, where he won the “Best Medical Student of the Year” award multiple times. He then moved to New York City to earn his medical degree at the State University of New York (SUNY). He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
During GI fellowship, he presented research articles and many interesting case studies at the annual meetings held by the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). During his final year, his peers elected him to serve as the Chief Fellow of the program.
After completing his intensive medical and specialized GI training, Dr. Jindal practiced GI in Indiana for 7 years. In addition to his busy practice in Indiana, he remained involved in teaching medical students and residents. He served as an affiliate faculty member at Indiana State University and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jindal joined Richmond Gastroenterology Associates in April 2018.
He evaluates and treats adult patients with multiple GI conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis (UC), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), swallowing disorders, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
Dr. Jindal is skilled in preventive and diagnostic endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy (EGD). He is passionate about GI health because he feels convinced that we can make a difference in the health and well-being of our patients by listening to them patiently and caring for them with compassion and dedication.
Dr. Jindal is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), and the Richmond Academy of Medicine (RAM).
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Jindal enjoys tennis, traveling, and movies. He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. He is married and has two sons, and he's delighted to call Richmond his home.
