Board-certified psychiatrist Mojeed Akintayo, MD, uses his 30 years of experience and considerable expertise to help the people of Greensboro, North Carolina, manage and overcome their mental health problems. At the Neuropsychiatric Care Center, Dr. A, as he likes to be called, focuses on delivering evidence-based mental health services and reducing behavioral disorder stigma.
Dr. A began his career at the College of Medicine, Lagos State University in Nigeria. He completed his general psychiatry training at Harlem Hospital Center in Harlem, New York City, affiliated with the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. A attended the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate College of Medicine Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York City, for his fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Dr. A was previously an associate psychiatrist for adult, child, and adolescent inpatient services at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Services in Westport, Connecticut, and a clinical assistant instructor in child and adolescent psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
He’s treated inmates at the New York City Department of Corrections Rikers Island and was associate medical director at Coastal Carolina Neuropsychiatric Center in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Dr. A’s areas of interest and expertise include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, women’s mental health problems, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), depressive disorder, psychosis, and bipolar disorder. He is highly skilled in treating psychiatric conditions across all ages.

He listens to me and provides the right medication
It worked out very well
I would definitely recommend Dr. Akintayo! He is very knowledgeable in his field! He is very kind and patient with my son!
If I could give a zero I would. He is a horrible rude, arrogant man that has no respect of person. He doesn't listen, he judges and ridicules without having knowledge of what he's talking about. He belittles people and is very unprofessional. He insulted me and when I tried to address the issue he tried to dismiss me and the little me even more and I was never able to get what my son needed as far as his medication. I will never go to this practice again until he is fired. I'm taking me and my two children out of this place immediately I do not recommend this doctor ever if you actually want help and compassion.

We have been blessed with Dr.A since 2013 and wouldn’t dream of leaving his practice. Dr.A is a wonderful doctor who cares for his patients and will listen to any questions or concerns you may have. I would highly recommend Dr.A to anyone!

Very attentive to my needs
I had a great visit with Dr. Akintayo. We discussed my progress since my last visit and determined that my medications are right on track. I’m doing so well that my next appointment will be in three months! I’m so impressed with how well Dr. Akintayo listens to me and gives me feedback. I feel very comfortable with him and his work! I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a good psychiatrist!

Wonderful
Layla and I are very pleased with our doctors visit. It is hard for my granddaughter to talk freely to anyone, and she was very opened to talking to him and his staff. She felt like for the first time someone actually listened and cared about her emotions. She left his office and was happy. She found out what her diagnosis was, and could get on the right path with new medication and continue therapy. She’s fourteen but is very cautious about taking medication if not necessary. But felt very confident that he took the extra time with her before writing prescriptions. Now she knows why she has all the emotions she has. She’s glad she has a doctor to help .
