Recently, I called Dr. Velusamy's office with a major health concern. The staff was courteous and professional, making every effort to facilitate a consultation with Dr. Velusamy. He returned my call promptly, although it requirShow moreed his calling me after office hours. Dr. Velusamy was very professional, taking the time to answer all my questions. Dr. Velusamy has been my cardiologist since March this year when I suffered a heart attack, and I feel blessed to have such a caring, skilled, and knowledgeable as my doctor.
If I could give them 10 stars I would. Literally was the best Nurse Practitioner I have ever met. She was thorough, kind hearted, and took her time with me. I had a high level of anxiety going in but she explained everything anShow mored worked out a plan to move forward. Was so glad that I was referred to this practice. I work for a doctor’s group and I am literally going to tell all our doctor’s to send our patients here!
About Dr. Velusamy
Muthu Velusamy, MD, FACC, ABVM, is the cardiovascular disease specialist at Cardiovascular Institute of America, which has two offices in Tampa and Lutz, Florida. He is board-certified in cardiovascular diseases, cardiology, and vascular medicine. Dr. Velusamy is a detail-oriented physician who takes a patient-centered approach to care.
After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Stanley Medical College in Chennai (formerly Madras), India, Dr. Velusamy completed postgraduate medical training in general medicine at the National Health Services Hospital in the United Kingdom. He then relocated to the United States and completed his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship program in cardiovascular disease at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. To further his skill set, Dr. Velusamy completed a nuclear cardiology fellowship at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, and then an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut in Mansfield, Connecticut.
Dedicated to learning and providing the best possible care, Dr. Velusamy also completed a mini vascular fellowship at the Prairie Heart Institute in Springfield, Illinois, and a clinical preceptorship at the Rane Center for Venous and Lymphatic Disease in Jackson, Mississippi.
Dr. Velusamy is a fellow of the American College of Cardiologists and a Vascular Diplomate of the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians of England-MRCP (UK) and Ireland (MRCPI).

My wait today was minimal in the waiting room. when check into a room the tech quickly got my vitals. It was good to have brought a book to read as it was a bit of a wait til the PA came in. My time with her was concise and she commended the positive change in my levels that were being monitored. A pleasant, good visit, worth the wait.
The tech was excellent. Leslie explained clearly what she was going to do and what to expect. I was very comfortable with her.
In 2018 i had serious problems going on with my veins on both my legs after treatments and laser surgeries and continous visits with dr velusamy i can walk again with vno problems. I highly recommend his services and his staff is great.
