Always friendly, professional and quick. Everyone greets you with a hello and a smile! From my first visit to my last tightening I don’t have a single complaint or anything negative I could say. Wonderful, beautiful office!! So gShow morelad I choose them. This is my 3rd time wearing full braces and I couldn’t feel more confident in the team working to perfect my smile. You guys are great!!! Any one unsure, just go in and speak to them. You’ll feel at home. 100% satisfied!!! 100% recommended!!! Ps. My brother just got his braces off. His smile motivated me to try one last time…he wore his for 4x as long as projected for me and paid 3x my price.

Neil is a tech nerd (as he said it to me) and has the most amazing machine that he uses when you are getting that terrible needle forShow more numbing your mouth. You do not feel the needle AT ALL! It is dang MAGIC!!! He also has the most caring and best personality! Hes so fun and outgoing and makes you feel like your talking to your best friend! Neil A. Shapiro, DMD, is a highly skilled dentist who serves patients from all over Hartford County at Shapiro Family Dental in Wethersfield, Connecticut. There, he offers world-class dental care at the state-of-the-art office.
In 1998, Dr. Shapiro graduated with a Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. After graduating, he completed a General Practice Residency Program at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. During his residency, he gained valuable experience in oral surgery and oral facial repairs following traumatic injury.
Since becoming a practicing professional, Dr. Shapiro has been diligent about enrolling in continuing education courses. He has studied to the point of excellence in performing root canals, oral surgery, dental implants, bone grafting, and his own QuickBraces of Connecticut — an innovative orthodontic method that straightens teeth in months rather than years.
Patients have come to appreciate his calm, polite chairside manner and his emphasis on patient education. Each personalized treatment plan is a collaborative effort and Dr. Shapiro routinely forms close personal relationships with his patients.
Dr. Shapiro is also a current member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Connecticut State Dental Association (CSDA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and the Hartford Dental Society.
When he’s not in the office, Dr. Shapiro is probably rocking out on a stage somewhere. He plays many musical instruments and even composes his own original songs. Ask him where you can catch him play with one of his bands, as he routinely plays social functions across the state!

I have been going to Dr. Shapiro for MANY years now, and plan to stay with them. They are so gentle, and I totally trust them working on me. I know whatever they do is definitely necessary, and have never felt any pain. All the dentists and staff are awesome!

Truly the best - Dr. Shapiro is beyond wonderful. Cannot recommend Shapiro Family Dentistry enough! We live 3 hours away and won’t consider changing dental practices due to the experience at SFD.
Excellent care as has been for the last 15 years
I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted, and I am possibly the most anxious and scared dental patient of all time. The staff was very kind, efficient, and completely professional while helping me through my anxiety and panic. I felt absolutely nothing the entire time, and Dr. Neil was so gentle and comforting despite my tears and worry. He talked me through the entire procedure and I never felt pain or judgment. I will never go elsewhere. Thank you, Dr. Neil, and the whole staff ❤️

Both my husband and I go to Dr Shapiro. I had dental work done this past Friday by Dr Shapiro and his team. I commented after it was like going to the spa. There was no pain, no discomfort and great music . More important after he is done I will have a beautiful teeth. Dr. Shapiro and his team are the best!

Our family has been going to Dr. Shapiro’s dentistry practice for 16 years. My son was 2 yrs when we started and every experience is great. I’ve had a root canal and extraction and I trust the work and care everytime!!

Dr Neil and his staff are great! Very caring and supportive. They listen to your concerns and give great advice without being pushy or judgmental in your decision. They know I am a wimp when it comes to pain (I’ve previously had very bad experiences elsewhere)and I have NEVER experienced any with Dr Neil!

Dr Shapiro took me quickly with an emergency (I’m an existing patient) today when I was in agony with a bad tooth. We made the decision together the best course of action and he was very reassuring during our process. While it wasn’t ideal he calmed my anxieties and got me through it just fine. I’m very happy he helped me understand this decision and I already feel much better for it. Thank you!
