Dr. Smith and his assistant were EXCELLENT. I had two ingrown toenails. One on each foot. I only felt a little cold on my feet for a few seconds while numbing them up. I never felt anything while he was cutting them out. Both my Show moretoes are feeling great today with almost no soreness at all. That is what Ii call EXCELLENT! Thank you very much.
Dr. Smith is a great doctor, he did my foot surgery last year and he explained everything to me. I had a fall about 4 ft and injured my foot again but he told me what was going on with it and put a brace on it. I would recommend CShow moreolumbus foot and ankle to anyone.
Nicholas Smith, DPM, MS, FACFAS, is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. In 2012, he joined the Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. team in Columbus, Georgia, providing high-quality care to patients in the area.
Dr. Smith is a native of Columbus, Georgia, graduating from Calvary Christian High School. He attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, majoring in biomedical sciences. Following Auburn University, Dr. Smith attended the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where he received numerous awards and scholarships.
While attending podiatry school, he is one of the few who also obtained his master's degree in healthcare management and administration.
After graduating, Dr. Smith completed his three-year residency training at one of the top hospitals in Chicago, Loyola University Medical Center. While at Loyola, he served as chief resident while receiving extensive training in all aspects of podiatric care, including bunions, ankle and heel pain, foot and ankle injuries, as well as reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Smith enjoys lecturing to the local community and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
He volunteers within the podiatry community by serving on the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons committees. Dr. Smith also writes and reviews questions for the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners multiple times per year in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
