I had needed to make an appointment for several years but was hesitant because of a previous experience at another doctor’s office. Dr. Smith immediately put me at ease and was wonderful. He quickly identified the issue, clearly eShow morexplained what was going on, and answered my questions in a way that was easy to understand. His less invasive approach was very reassuring and greatly appreciated. I would also like to recognize the receptionist at the front desk. She was one of the kindest and most welcoming receptionists I have ever encountered. Excellent customer service can be hard to find these days, and she truly went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. She was amazing!

Nicholas Smith, DPM, MS, FACFAS, is board-certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery. In 2012, he joined the Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. team in Columbus, Georgia, providing high-quality care to patients in the area.
Dr. Smith is a native of Columbus, Georgia, graduating from Calvary Christian High School. He attended Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, majoring in biomedical sciences. Following Auburn University, Dr. Smith attended the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, where he received numerous awards and scholarships.
While attending podiatry school, he is one of the few who also obtained his master's degree in healthcare management and administration.
After graduating, Dr. Smith completed his three-year residency training at one of the top hospitals in Chicago, Loyola University Medical Center. While at Loyola, he served as chief resident while receiving extensive training in all aspects of podiatric care, including bunions, ankle and heel pain, foot and ankle injuries, as well as reconstructive forefoot and rearfoot surgery, and diabetic limb salvage.
Dr. Smith enjoys lecturing to the local community and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
He volunteers within the podiatry community by serving on the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons committees. Dr. Smith also writes and reviews questions for the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners multiple times per year in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.

Dr. Smith is truly a blessing! He takes his time with my elderly mom and always treats her with genuine care and compassion. It’s hard to find doctors who are both knowledgeable and personable, but he definitely is. The staff is also wonderful — everyone is kind, welcoming, and makes you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. We truly appreciate the level of care and respect they show their patients.
Dr Smith did a right foot bunionectomy in 2018 and it turned out beautifully. Just had the left one on March 18th. It is still healing. He did a great job on both feet. His office staff are beautiful people with a great spirit. Rhonda Scarborough
