A PHYSICIAN THAT CARES! Having a complete hysterectomy was never a decision I wanted to make. After seeking multiple opinions, I realized it was the best choice to give myself the opportunity to live a healthier, fuller life. I amShow more so grateful that Dr. Pemberton was the physician who guided me through this journey. While my surgery went well, my recovery has included some unexpected setbacks. Through it all, Dr. Pemberton's post-operative care has been exceptional. She has been patient, compassionate, and reassuring every step of the way. She listens to every concern without ever making me feel dismissed or like I'm overreacting. She takes the time to explain what my body may be experiencing while remaining committed to finding answers through appropriate testing rather than making assumptions. That level of care has given me tremendous peace of mind during a very vulnerable season. I truly cannot imagine having another physician walk alongside me through this process. Her expertise is matched only by her genuine compassion. I would also be remiss if I didn't recognize her entire team. Nicola Pemberton, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist and the medical director of The Birth Center of New Jersey in West Union, New Jersey. A recognized leader in women’s health, Dr. Pemberton is passionate about helping women experience safe, empowering, and minimally invasive births.
Featured in The New York Times and a Netflix documentary about childbirth, Dr. Pemberton is celebrated for her compassionate approach and tireless service—especially during the pandemic, when she safely delivered hundreds of babies and became a local hero to many.
Dr. Pemberton earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of Miami and her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. She completed her clinical rotations in England and her OB/GYN residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, where she was recognized for her teaching excellence. She later served as a faculty member at Maimonides Medical Center and as a clinical assistant professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
In addition to childbirth, Dr. Pemberton offers advanced gynecologic care, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures, as well as a range of in-office treatments. She lives in Union County with her husband and three children.
