A PHYSICIAN THAT CARES! Having a complete hysterectomy was never a decision I wanted to make. After seeking multiple opinions, I realized it was the best choice to give myself the opportunity to live a healthier, fuller life. I amShow more so grateful that Dr. Pemberton was the physician who guided me through this journey. While my surgery went well, my recovery has included some unexpected setbacks. Through it all, Dr. Pemberton's post-operative care has been exceptional. She has been patient, compassionate, and reassuring every step of the way. She listens to every concern without ever making me feel dismissed or like I'm overreacting. She takes the time to explain what my body may be experiencing while remaining committed to finding answers through appropriate testing rather than making assumptions. That level of care has given me tremendous peace of mind during a very vulnerable season. I truly cannot imagine having another physician walk alongside me through this process. Her expertise is matched only by her genuine compassion. I would also be remiss if I didn't recognize her entire team. From check-in to check-out, every staff member is kind, welcoming, compassionate, and thorough. I never leave the office with unanswered questions or without a clear understanding of my next steps. Nicola Pemberton, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist at Artemis OB/GYN in Union, New Jersey. She is the medical director of Artemis OB/GYN and The Birth Center of New Jersey. She specializes in obstetrics, reproductive endocrinology, and benign adult and adolescent gynecology.
Dr. Pemberton has been featured in the NY Times Metro section as well as CBS Evening News, NJ News 12, Cosmopolitan.com, and as a panelist for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center's Annual Women's Day conference. Dr. Pemberton completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Miami in Florida before moving to the West Indies for two years to attend the St. George’s University School of Medicine in True Blue, Grenada. For her third year of medical school, she did her clinical rotations in England, including a neuroscience selective in the Czech Republic.
She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey, where she was recognized for her resident teaching and given a faculty position at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York City, where she also served as a clinical assistant professor at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
Dr. Pemberton is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her training includes general laparoscopic and robotic gynecology surgery for procedures such as myomectomy, hysterectomy, and ovarian pathology. She performs numerous in-office procedures, including endometrial ablation, cryosurgery, colposcopy, and cone biopsies.
A native New Yorker who is now happy to call New Jersey home, Dr. Pemberton lives in the West Orange area with her husband and three children.

Dr. Pemberton delivered my baby 9 years ago. In my previous visit, she still makes me feel like family and shows she really cares about her patients.
