I walked into OJ's office without an appointment, hoping they could squeeze me in. I was having pain on the left side of my face and a terrible skin condition that was making me ashamed TO BE SEEN IN PUBLIC. To my surprise and deShow morelight, they'd just had a "no show," and were able to get me right in! I did not have what I thought I had (we love to research our own medical conditions on the internet, don't we?), but OJ quickly diagnosed my skin issue and prescribed medicine to treat it. I'm so grateful to OJ and his wonderful staff, and to the "skin angel" who was sitting on my shoulder that day.
O. Jay has been my dermatologist for at least 30 years and will always take care of of my dermatology needs. He has a special demeanor and is always thorough with my exams. For over 25 years, O. Jay On, PA, has treated patients for a variety of skin conditions and cosmetic preferences. He currently practices at Chico Dermatology in Chico, California, specializing in general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. Patients frequently come to him for sclerotherapy to treat their spider veins, Botox® wrinkle reduction, and facial contouring with name-brand dermal fillers like Juvederm™ and Restylane®.
O. Jay’s passion for health care is apparent in all that he does. Since graduating from Stanford University’s selective physician assistant program, O. Jay has served as a lecturer for Stanford’s physician assistant/nurse practitioner program on dermatological conditions. He even earned the Mary Em Wallace Teacher of the Year award from the school. He uses his renowned public speaking skills for guest lectures across the country, often speaking on behalf of pharmaceutical companies and medical providers.
In addition to live lectures, O. Jay is known for his webcast and classroom presentation for ninth and tenth grade students, “Live in Your Skin for a Lifetime,” about acne and proper skin care habits. He created the presentation on an unrestricted educational grant.
Today, O. Jay holds memberships with the Sacramento Valley Dermatologic Society, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and the California Academy of Physician Assistants. Through these associations, he keeps up on the latest techniques and technologies in his field of practice.
At Chico Dermatology, O. Jay’s main priority is to give his patients healthy skin that they’re proud to show off. He teaches them to care for their skin outside of treatment and to find a new appreciation for their natural features.

I’ve been to many Dermatologist over the years. Some not so good but Dr O J On is remarkable. He always greets with a smile, listens and explains everything. Show’s pictures of similar ailments. So glad I found him.

The calm funny approach of O.Jay, PA has made my anxiety with sun issues growing up with red hair and the pale skin that accompanies it just disappear. He’s a lovely person that puts you right at ease. I highly recommend him.

I was going to be charged twice as much money for this visit as what I was charged for a prior visit and was not informed ahead of time (no secrets policy prices were not disclosed) until I asked the staff to please double check with the doctor after the appointment. Initially they just said that prices had increased to double in a matter of months but had billed an office visit versus a 911 appointment by accident. The injection also didn’t at all resolve my cyst and may have made it worse. This happened the previous time I had a 911 as well which had been discouraging. So I have paid close to $120 to have a cyst remain unchanged and take longer to heal potentially. Both appointments I was also going to be charged for a full office visit until I asked if the staff could double check. Just a bummer of an experience this time and last appointment sadly and I hate to write discouraging feedback but that was my experience unfortunately.

Office staff is uniformly friendly and welcoming. I am impressed by how they keep to schedule so as a patient you are not left waiting. O. Jay is impressive his knowledge, experience and competence and yet he maintains a friendly, accessible demeanor. Everything you could want from a medical office.
