About Patrick Martin, MD

Dr Martin is a New Mexico native, Well, sort of, he moved to the Albuquerque in the second grade. He graduated from Highland high school before joining the US Navy and spending 5 years as a ship electrician. He returned to get an undergraduate degree in chemistry from New Mexico State before heading on to an MD degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. After finishing residency in family medicine he returned to work in Northern New Mexico. He spent two years practicing medicine in rural South Australia. Upon his return the US he started a decade long career in rural hospital medicine. The last nearly 5 years have been spent in Los Alamos at Los Alamos Medical Center. ​ Dr Martin has experience with critically ill inpatients in peri-operative settings. He has experience using ketamine in an inpatient setting for anesthesia, analgesia and more recently with depression and alcoholism.
