Peter Macfield, MD, is a board-certified family practice doctor serving patients at Breton Village Pediatrics & Family Medicine in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a provider of integrative medicine, his aim is to help each patient achieve optimal wellness.
Dr. Macfield gained much of his medical training and education in Michigan. After earning a medical degree at Chittagong Medical College in Chittagong, Bangladesh, he moved to Grand Rapids to complete a medical residency at Grand Rapids Medical Education & Research Center at Michigan State University. The program was based at Mercy Health St. Mary’s.
Since then, Dr. Macfield has emphasized a holistic approach to family medicine. He maintains a special interest in functional medicine and complementary medicine.
Dr. Macfield focuses on preventive medicine, hormone replacement therapy, osteoporosis, and the management of chronic conditions, including fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and Crohn’s disease. In addition, he maintains an interest in Fabry disease, a rare genetic condition, and porphyria, a group of disorders caused by a buildup of chemicals in the body.

Dr. Macfield is a kind, compassionate and highly qualified physician. I am so pleased with his treatment and his thoughtful, caring patient demeanor. I have recommended him to my friends and family.
I really enjoy Dr. Peter MacField. I feel that his office has gotten too technical. Like several especially medical practices, numerous texts, instructions to sign in online and yesterday having to scan a QR code at the office to check in is just too much. I don't want to leave messages after navigating a phone tree. I prefer to deal with people.

I didn't get my blood pressure taken. Also, would have liked an explaination on why my right knee hurts ( started a couple months ago, arthritis ?) after getting up from sitting. He asked me if I wanted a shot for it. I said no and glad I didn't, but what kind of shot was it? I didn't think quick enogh. Is there another option?

Interesting annual visit. It was late in the day and maybe taking vitals is not protocol. My blood pressure was not taken which surprised me. Dr Peter reviewed my bloodwork results and answered questions about screenings. We discussed supplements and he gave recommendations. Dr Peter discussed my body mass screening and illustrated where he wanted by scores to reflectvinbthe coming year. I left feeling reassured of my health pathway and areas to work on through diet, supplements, exercise, and heath plan options. Dr. Peter is very knowledgeable in the medical and alternative areas of healthcare.
He's still very concerned about you living your best life. Dr Macfield is always there for me.

Greeted by name, hardly any wait, Dr. Macfield is always very friendly. He reviewed my list of drugs and I was able to delete some!
I have been with Peter since he opened. I have found ever visit to be a pleasure! His entire staff is interested in you as a person. Whenever a treatment is needed or a prescription, it is always discussed first and explained well. Great Doctor, great staff, great care.
