Dr. Rafael Perez received his undergraduate degree at Harvard University and earned his medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Johns Hopkins affiliated Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Maryland. Dr. Perez is double-board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and urogynecology, having trained under two of the most influential doctors in their respective fields: Dr. James Dorsey for laparoscopic surgery and Dr. Alf Bent for urogynecology. Doctor take his time to talk to me and ask questions - not too comment nowadays - I guess that’s the reason why the waiting - it took me about one hour to get inside- but it pays to wait-

I went in for my annual checkup. I was told that they would only call me back if there was something wrong. So when they did call me back, I was freaking out. I went to see the doctor, and he told me everything was okay. I was confused about why they had called me in, but I was obviously happy to hear that I was cancer-free. Then I received a $235 bill. I called the office to ask if maybe there had been a mistake and whether the charge could possibly be waived, since I was called back just to be told that everything was fine. The woman who answered was extremely nasty. She told me that the doctor doesn’t make mistakes and that if he wants to see me, I have the right to say no and just look at my results online. She said I didn’t need to go, even though the doctor had asked me to come in. Basically, I went to an appointment because the doctor’s office called me back, was told everything was okay, and now I’m being charged $235 for it. She then told me that if I thought I had been asked to come in just to be charged, I should find another doctor. She said I wouldn’t be the first or the last patient to leave the practice. She also told me she’s been working there for 25 years and that the doctor allows her to speak to patients this way. Honestly, I thought there had simply been a mistake. I wasn’t calling to argue, I was trying to understand what happened. But instead of explaining it, she basically told me to find another doctor and that this practice wasn’t for me. The doctor is good. Unfortunately, he has a bad team member. Does he know that this is how she speaks to patients? I honestly don’t know. But one person can really ruin an otherwise good experience
