Dr. Perinbasekar was very nice and had a pleasant gentle demeanor. I appreciate that he patiently answered my (many) questions about my condition. I like to be a proactive participant in my healthcare and need doctors who are willShow moreing to treat me as a team member in my medical care. Dr. Perinbasekar made me feel listened to, comfortable and safe regarding my treatment moving forward. The two female staff members at the front desk were very sweet, helpful and professional. I was very happy with my visit, especially as I had recently had bad experiences with two doctors who made me feel invalidated as if they know more about my body and health experiences than I do, thus excluding me from being an informed member in my healthcare. I am very particular with doctors and last year I lost my primary care doctor. I switched 6 different P.C doctors until I was referred to Dr.Burns and I am extremely happy with him. I am very particular and will not settle for suShow morebstandard healthcare, and with Dr.burns I thank god I found him. He did not become a doctor for the prestige or the name. My experience with him is always a pleasure and the fact that he truly cares about his patients shows. Most doctors barely remember your name. Dr.Burns will ask me about something I told him was bothering me (not health related) months ago. I cannot say enough good things about him. One visit and you will see what I mean. Also, his staff is great I can be a real pain in the neck, and they are always polite and patient with me.
Rajiv Perinbasekar MD, is a gastroenterologist at Westchester Putnam Gastroenterology. He is passionate about providing high quality and personalized care to patients living in Putnam and northern Westchester.
Dr. Perinbasekar received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. During his residency he received awards for his research in inflammatory bowel disease. He then completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Hofstra-Northwell at Northshore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow.
Dr. Perinbasekar is knowledgeable in the treatment of digestive diseases of the gastrointestinal system and the liver, including colorectal cancer screening, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver disease. He has a special interest in using new technologies to enhance patient care.
