About Ralph Cahoon

I'm Ralph Cahoon, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I'm experienced in helping people learn to cope with a wide variety of mental health and/or substance abuse problems. I specialize in treating trauma, anxiety, depression and substance abuse. I believe everyone can change for the better with appropriate assistance. ​ The most important factor in therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I strive to make that relationship safe, open and honest. This means that counseling has to be an ongoing dialogue between the client and therapist, not a lecture. ​ Prior to my work as a therapist, I was as a police officer for 26 years. Due to this background, I especially enjoy working with law enforcement officers and other First Responders, as I understand how hard their jobs are. But everyone seeking help is welcome.
