Staff was extremely nice. They got me in and had the initial tests done in 10 minutes and the Doc was there 1 minute after all of that was done. Second time having my eyes checked by Dr. Peterson. Super nice guy. Came in, askeShow mored me how I was doing and if I had any trips planned trying to build a personal relationship with me despite the fact that I only see him once every 2-3 years. He made a few joking comments which I thought were in very good taste. Glasses are a little pricey even with insurance but overall, its a great place. I have many options for optometry but Dr. Peterson and his staff made a great impression so I won't be going anywhere else.
The doctor and the tech that helped me were very courteous and helpful but one of the assistants/tech’s in the lobby scolded me about how I was holding glasses that I was trying-on and stating I was going to damage or break them. Show moreShe could have been nicer but she was so rude and condescending that I almost walked out without purchasing a pair of glasses. The only reason I stayed was because both the doctor and the tech assigned to me were both nice and the tech apologized for her co-worker’s rudeness. Richard Petersen, OD, is a skilled and highly regarded doctor of optometry at Antelope Valley Optometric Center in Lancaster, California. I have been going to AVOC for several years and I have been satisfied. I met and was treated by DR Petersen for the first time and I was very happy with his service. The support staff is very friendly and professional. Don’t think I will change.
Everyone was very nice. The exam was thorough and he took time to make sure I had no other questions. The help I got picking out glass frames made me look 10 years younger. :-)

I’ve been to several optometrists here in the AV and they all have been pretty much okay. I decided to come here because they sold the safety glasses I love. I expected okay but the service and personal contact was beyond okay it was amazing the young lady that I didn’t catch her name was awesome . The doctor was awesome also. no pressure very informative. The best part my glasses that I bought with the same insurance were close to half the price I’ve been paying. Very nice and inviting atmosphere. I loved the way the glasses were setup. I really enjoyed looking at the glasses while waiting for my appointment. The nurse that helped me was extremely helpful as well as approachable. The doctor was very thorough and informative. My overall experience was very satisfied. I will recommend family and friends.

The AV Optometry Center staff were welcoming, the facility was comfortable and the very courteous Dr Peterson was outstanding with the exam. There was a great selection of eyeglass frames to select from for my prescription and I will get my contact lenses soon. My family and I have been coming here for years and the service has always been the best.
