After 4 years of suffering symptoms that another neurologist dismissed as ‘anxiety’. Dr. Balsinger actually listened to my concerns and symptoms. My symptoms are invisible on the outside so they’re hard to describe, but he did NOTShow more tell me there’s nothing wrong like others have. I haven’t had any follow up care yet as my first appointment was only yesterday, but just knowing that he LISTENED and recommended some follow up testing and bloodwork was a huge relief.
Robert W. Balsiger, DO, is a local board-certified neurologist at Las Vegas Neurology Center. He has resided in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 2006. He has strong ties to the Midwest growing up in Minnesota and Ohio.
Dr. Balsiger attended The Ohio State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology. He was active in the community in Columbus, Ohio, and on campus at The Ohio State University. While a full time student, he obtained a personal training certificate and was involved in geriatric exercise prescription. Dr. Balsiger was on the Dean’s List each year he attended The Ohio State University.
Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Balsiger relocated to Henderson, Nevada. There he attended Touro University Nevada and obtained his medical degree. He was also on the Dean’s List at Touro University Nevada. He immediately recognized a need for physicians in the community. Thus, he continued his training in Las Vegas, Nevada, completing a 4 year neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center.
Upon completion of residency, Dr. Balsiger continues to serve the community here in Las Vegas. He is the stroke director and director of neurology at Desert Springs Hospital Medical Center. He also has a strong passion for academic medicine. He is part of the core faculty for the neurology residency at Valley Hospital Medical Center, a member of the Graduate Medical Education Committee at Valley Hospital Medical Center, and adjunct faculty for Touro University Nevada. He enjoys spending time teaching residents and medical students in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Dr. Balsiger also provides weekly neurology board examination review and neurology lectures for the neurology residents.
Aside from practicing neurology, Dr. Balsiger enjoys weight training, watching movies and traveling.
Dr. Balsiger was awarded the Top Doctor Award for Top Neurologist 2016-2017 & Vegas Top Doctors 2020.

Both doctors had excellent bed side manner, showed compassion, and interest in our situation. They spent ample time to determine the next step in treatment.

Reccomend very highly. Seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. All staff were personable, friendly, and professional. Dr. Bollinger was fantastic, he was very thorough, he really listened to me and addressed all of my concerns. He's exactly what I'd hoped for in a doctor.

Friendly and thorough are the words I would use to describe Dr. Balsiger. I left his office with the comfort of all bases being covered. Dr. Balsiger is warm and friendly all the while with obvious expertise. I wish I did not need Dr. Balsiger's services, but I'm sure glad those services are there when I need them. Dr. Balsiger was very likable and professional my issue was the horrific wait time. I am on oxygen and surprised their medical office did not have oxygen. I was running very low due to the length of time i had been waiting. I will make sure any return visit is met with an adequate amount of oxygen or bring a charger.
He displayed a high degree of professionalism and seemed to genuinely care about my condition. I look forward to working with him in the hope that my symptoms improve.

Very perfesional and wonderful experience
Dr. Balsiger is amazing. He comes in informed after having looked at scans and any data at his disposal. Dr. Balsiger takes the time to ask questions AND listens to the answers. Just as importantly, he takes the time to answer questions without rushing. His patience is amazing, as my wife and I often have lots of questions. I couldn’t be happier about the fact that I was fortunate enough to fall under Dr. Balsiger’s care.
