His responses to my questions were detailed and answered all my concerns and questions. The scheduling assistant was efficient and helpful in getting the surgery scheduled. They provided a lot of detailed information on what to expect and the steps leading up to the day of surgery. Dr. Robinson is a very curious person with excellent bedside manner. He speaks with a quiet passion and precision for his craft. I'm not sure I have had a more succinct but meaningful conversation with a Doctor in my years. I hShow moreave been very nervous about the severity of my neck conditions but Dr. Robinson simply said that this is one of his favorite surgeries to perform, which gave me the confidence to move forward with the procedure. Debbie also did an excellent job of walking me through important dates involved with my surgery date.
Robert D. Robinson, MD, is a board-certified neurosurgeon at Alabama Neurological Surgery & Spine in Birmingham, Alabama. He joined the clinic in 2008.
Originally based on the west coast, Dr. Robinson earned his undergraduate degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado. He remained in Colorado for medical school, studying at the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine in Aurora.
Selected by the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s prestigious program, Dr. Robinson relocated to Alabama for his internship and residency. His skill and precision in neurosurgery earned him the title of Chief Resident in Neurosurgery in 1998.
Dr. Robinson initially practiced in Atlanta, Georgia, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama, before joining Alabama Neurological Surgery & Spine. In 2009, he was recognized as one of America’s Best Doctors.

Everyone from the time you entered the doctor office was so extremely nice and, helpful and made me feel very welcome. This extended from the time I entered the office until I left. I am disabled and the staff and doctor never rushed me but only showed me compassion

After 2 prior surgeons being a flop to say least, dr Robinson seems to be really versed in dealing with issues of the spine. And the staff is some the most polite and pleasant ladies to be around.

My wife and I have been under the care of Dr. Robinson since 2010. He has always taken very good care of both of us. In our opinion he and his staff are the best in the business.

Productive meeting. Dr. Obviously had studied the disc from the MRI sent by the imaging center earlier in the day. He wanted to schedule surgery to clear bad obstruction to my Spinal canal to relieve pressure and obstruction.
Excellent care. I have had Cervical Surgery and getting prepared for Lumbar surgery. I would not go to any other group. Dr. Robinson and the entire staff are great.
