I love love love my doctor and PA Jen! I been with them for years and truly some of the ONLY I trust with my care having a complicated medical history and rare blood disorder. I've been to MANY specialist in every specialty, but iShow moret is rare you find ones who listen and truly want what is best for you. There is no pushing of meds or any God complex at all. Everything is heard and everything is treated as it should be conservatively and monitored to ensure your getting the best care and treatment plan for your care! To me that is so important because at certain times we ourselves may feel we need more or something quick, but it isn't the case. It's only because we are in the moment of when things seem the worse, but a few days or weeks later it isn't as bad. I hope those who feel that they aren't heard or believe they needed something more or different understand how important it is to have a doctor and even PA who knows just as in some cases parents do with their children what is truly best regardless if we like It or not because in the end usually they are right. I know for a fact in 10 yrs I will be more advanced in my condition and things will be alot more to difficult to do everyday things probably even alot more pain and what eases my mind is knowing I don't need to worry about if that happens because my medical doctors care enough and take good care of me now that when those time come there will be options that will still work. It is rare today to find dedicated doctors to not just their patients but to their community like my amazing doctor who was on the front lines during covid helping so many who were in need of good care going to urgent care and hospitals for help during that time and being blessed to be treated by My DR. C. During that time he made sure his patients ALWAYS were in the best care as well either seeing him or my favorite PA in the world Jennifer. Who after my most recent hospitalization is NOW BY FAR THE BEST ONE IN SOUTH FLORIDA and more knowledgeable that most residents, PA'S, AND NP's out there. She was always one of my favorites but now she is the my only and most favorite so if your in need of any care that is offered at South Florida Primary Care whoever you see you couldn't be in better or safer hands. I'd tate them 100 stars if I could
I can honestly say in all my years with Dr Calonje’s office I never recall a bad or problematic visit….and yesterday was no different. Starting with the day before the staff in the office, call and ask for confirmation on me cominShow moreg in for the visit and they provide me the exact co-pay number the day before which I think is great. Next day I come in I only wait no more than maybe 4 to 5 minutes before being taken back and having my vitals done and asking for an update on how I’m doing. I was then fortunate enough to meet with Jennifer, who is so thorough and pleasant,and she covers everything and I gave her my update on how I had been doing and actually found out yesterday that I can get injections for my severe golfers elbow, which I didn’t even realize , , I learn something new every time.After a very pleasant visit with Jennifer. I am on my way.I highly recommend Dr Calonje and his staff you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great experience! Steve C
Dr. Ronaldo Calonje is a physician working at South Florida Sports Medicine and Primary Care in Tamarac, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He provides a variety of services to patients at this facility, including physical exams, and sports medicine, along with diagnosis and treatment for chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. His sports medicine practice ranges from weekend warriors to top professionals and everyone in between.
Dr. Calonje attended Miami-Dade College, where he studied psychology. After graduating from this institution with honors, he studied microbiology and immunology at the University of Miami. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Sciences. Dr. Calonje attended medical school at Autonomous School of Medical Sciences in Costa Rica. After returning to the United States, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
Since he began practicing sports medicine, Dr. Calonje has covered many events, including amateur boxing, professional boxing, WNBA basketball, mixed martial arts, the Chicago Marathon, Florida State University Athletics, special Olympics, F.I.U. Athletics, University of Miami Athletics, and more. He has served as Medical Director of South Florida Sports Medicine and Primary Care since 2011.
Dr. Calonje was born in Managua, Nicaragua. His father is a retired pediatrician who practiced for 20 years in Miami, Florida. His brother is an OB/GYN currently practicing at St. Alexius Medical Center in Illinois.

I've been going to this office for a couple of years now and I wouldn't think of going anywhere else at this time. The staff is FABULOUS!! From the receptionist, the nurses, the practitioners, they're all GREAT!! The office is immaculately clean and is ran the way it looks!! Perfect!!

The girl at the front desk is very accommodating. When you have an appointment they take you on time The PA and the doctor really know there medical stuff. The office is clean and very comfortable. The doctor is very knowledgeable. When you leave the office, do you feel like everything is going to be all right
Dr C has been my Dr now for at least 20 yrs. I will not go anywhere else and travel an hour to see him. The staff is very friendly and I never have to wait in his office for more than 10 minutes. Thank you
