Safa Ibrahim, MD, is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, as well as Internal Medicine. She practices out of the Main Campus and Methodist West locations of The Endocrine Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Ibrahim has been calling Houston home for the past 10 years since she migrated to the US from Sudan to pursue her medical training. She earned her medical degree from The National Ribat University in Sudan before completing her internal medicine residency at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, where she also served as a Chief Resident in her final year of residency.
She returned to Texas for her fellowship training in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism at Texas A&M/Baylor Scott and White in Temple. Dr. Ibrahim also holds a public health certificate from The University of Texas in Houston.
Dr. Ibrahim believes that patient education makes a big impact in their treatment journey; that’s why she spends time explaining the disease process and how it can adversely affect our bodies. She is also aware that diabetes and most hormonal imbalances are life-long conditions, so she focuses on improving a patient’s quality of life while optimizing and simplifying their treatment regimen.
When she’s not in the office, Dr. Ibrahim likes traveling with her husband and three kids to explore different cultures and food. She also enjoys baking.

Dr. Ibraham is always very nice and professional. I like when the doctor and I are on the same page. My last visit I was thinking I wanted to make some changes and She was in agreement. We even had the same ideas for which medication I would switch to. This was very comforting, considering how long I’ve been struggling. I would definitely recommend her to others.

My visit with Dr. Ibrahim was very informative and she was patient and took time to answer my questions. I would recommend her clinic to anyone needing her expertise.
She was a delight the minute she entered my exam room for our first meeting. We spent a few minutes getting acquainted before she approached the reason for the visit. It was obvious that she had prepared herself by studying my prior medical history. My wife was in the exam room to assist me as I have become extremely hard of hearing. Dr. Ibrahim made sure that she communicated clearly her assessment of my current conditions and the options that she felt to be appropriate. It was a wonderful experience that my wife and I had and feel comfortable in the recommended plan.
I found Dr Ibrahim to have a pleasant personality, good listener, addressed my concerns. Easy-access location with convenient parking.

Dr. Safa has the best bedside manners. She is very detailed and will go over everything with you. She does not make you feel rushed. She takes the time to explain everything. I wish all the doctors would be like her. I highly recommend her.
Dr. Qureshi is great. Takes his time with you and doesn’t rush. The lab person I had didn’t seem to happy…she looked at the list of people she had to draw labs for and said “I guess I’m not going to get a lunch…”. That is my only complaint. Dr Qureshi himself and staff are great.
