About Dr. Saly Elias

Saly Elias, OD, is a compassionate optometrist practicing at 2020 Family Vision.

Dr. Elias is originally from Windsor, Ontario, and graduated from Wayne State University in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in health and nutrition science. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she was accepted into Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago and graduated with her Doctor of Optometry in May 2018. During her final year of optometry school, she had the opportunity to work with low vision patients to help the legally blind with daily activities using telescopes and magnifiers, specialty contact lenses to treat diseases such as keratoconus.

During her rotations, Dr. Elias also had the opportunity to work at John Dingell VA hospital in Michigan and Lake City VA hospital in Florida. Working with many veterans, she became knowledgeable and proficient in diagnosing and treating dry eye disease, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and many more ocular diseases.

Dr. Elias enjoys providing comprehensive eye examinations to patients of all ages and looks forward to meeting you soon.
