Dr Sharma and his staff are professional and friendly. Dr Sharma performed surgery on my left shoulder and I’m completely healed and as good as before. The pain management was amazing, very little pain.
Dr. Samir Sharma is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine physician. He currently practices at South Bay Orthopedic and Sports Medicine with his wife, Dr. Kavita Sharma, and a talented team of medical professionals in Campbell, California.
After being raised in Michigan, Dr. Sharma moved to Miami where he was accepted to the honors accelerated medical program at the University of Miami, Florida. He moved back to Michigan to attend the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where he graduated with a top of the class distinction. During his orthopedic surgery residency there, he worked under Dr. Robert Teitge, a team physician for the Detroit Pistons.
Dr. Sharma completed a sports medicine externship at the University of Pittsburgh under Christopher Harner and Freddie Fu, before finishing his residency at the Detroit Medical Center. He concluded a fellowship at Tahoe Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Carson City, Nevada, working alongside team physicians for the US Ski and Snowboarding team.
Active in his field, Dr. Sharma is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, the California Orthopedic Association, the California Medical Association, and the Santa Clara County Medical Association.
In 2014 and 2015, Dr. Sharma was also the head team physician for the San Jose Sabercats — several of the skilled players he operated on led the team to the 2015 Arena Bowl Championship. Dr. Sharma has also been affiliated with Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California, since 2009.
Dr. Sharma is the proud father of two and enjoys spending time with his family when he isn’t assisting patients. He encourages and supports patients in pursuing good health, healing, and recovery through maintaining an active, healthy lifestyle in all phases of their lives.

Good results and minimum recovery time.
Really like Dr.Sharma as a person, very pleasant and had not needed to see him until this week regarding potential knee damage from 3 falls this year. He requested x-rays and MRI, which were done weeks prior for this appointment. Disappointing, as he did not show me either of them, or have them at appointment, he merely gave his opinion that he had seen them and it was arthritis. He showed me a knee piece & explained, but never showed me MY MRI & X-rays, nor did he even look at either of my knees, or my bakers cysts or to check for swelling or anything else. No checking walk, or physical limitations. He used to be quite thorough, so I was very surprised. I felt very disappointed as much was missing out of this first appointment. I also had horrible experiences with SimonMed, and their call center, the one recommended by his office and letterhead rx given. I heard from another of his patients, my friend, who also hated SimonMed and honestly, neither of us will be back. I hope this is viewed as constructive criticism. Also, his PA, signed his own name on the MRI/xray slip, where Dr.Sharma should have signed, thus another call to get that corrected. Some staff and all call center people obviously not getting trained enough and don't have correct information, including phone numbers to get through to the real office personnel. Horrible experience, spent days on this getting more and more frustrated and jerked around and around. Finally, drove down to office to get x-ray I eventually booked with real office worker at Simon Med, and the front door had a big sign saying "No X-rays Today! So, went elsewhere..anywhere but SimonMed..they are a disaster! Hope this is used constructively to ensure major improvements needed.

Excellent patient care. Doctors provide treatment options based on your individual needs. They "do not" over book, leaving you waiting long after your scheduled appointment. Clean, Professional and easy parking.

I waited for 4 weeks for the appointment with this particular doctor and he never saw me. Instead, there was another doctor who showed up to see me without any previous notice. Disappointing.
