Sanjiv K. Saini, MD, enjoys a medical career spanning more than three decades that has taken him literally from coast to coast. Today, Dr. Saini is Medical Director at MD Dermatology & Laser Center in suburban Annapolis, Maryland, with offices in Gambrills, Edgewater, and Lexington Park. His motto is that healthy skin is beautiful skin.
Dr. Saini completed his undergraduate studies at George Washington University and his medical school training at Georgetown University Medical School. After completing an internship in general surgery at Washington Hospital Center, he entered the United States Air Force, serving as a general medicine officer. Soon after, he was promoted to Chief of Aerospace Medicine at the U.S. Air Force Clinic in Los Angeles, where he served patients on Earth as well as outer space — since one of his duties was to provide healthcare to manned spaceflight engineers and astronauts.
It was after he returned to Washington, D.C., that Dr. Saini began to pursue his career in dermatology. He completed his dermatology residency at Howard University Hospital, followed by a fellowship in cosmetic surgery at the Burks-Farber Clinics in Kenner, Louisiana. Dr. Saini is board certified in dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Medical Association.
When he is not educating his patients at MD Dermatology & Laser Center, Dr. Saini can be found on the baseball diamond, serving as a corresponding dermatologist for the Washington Nationals for their annual skin cancer screening event, and at community health fairs throughout the region.
