Dr. Gilcrest is an amazing surgeon. The surgical Clinic is efficient and professional. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour and a half and never felt rushed when talking to Dr. Gilcrest or his nurse. The front desk Show morestaff were friendly and very efficient.

Dr. Gilchrist was born in Dothan, Alabama, and grew up frequenting Auburn for various sporting events with friends and family. He worked in the medical field as a patient care technician within the operating room before ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in medicine, specifically surgery. He then attended Auburn University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biomedical sciences, before moving on to the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB), where he completed his medical school degree. Dr. Gilchrist then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he also completed a year of research, contributing to the fields of general surgery, pediatric surgery, and trauma.
His practice will focus on general surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Gilchrist is looking forward to serving the Auburn and Opelika area and helping patients achieve a better quality of life.
Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, watching Auburn sports, and playing golf.

Great guy, upfront, honest and tells you like it is. He explained potential surgery and it’s potential good side and bad side effects. If I go through with the surgery I have total confidence in him.

The practitioner was very nice and took her time checking my wound until the Dr.came in! She took out my Sutures gently as possible and then sent me on my merry way. And they assured me they were available if I needed them! Wonderful experience!!!Two thumbs up!
