The best part was that he was empathetic and undeShow morerstanding, which I have found to be rare, unfortunately, in doctors today. I am so happy he was there to ease my fears. As a wife and mother of two, I needed to make sure I was healing properly and he explained everything I needed to know and what to look out for if something did go wrong.

Dr. Gilchrist was born in Dothan, Alabama, and grew up frequenting Auburn for various sporting events with friends and family. He worked in the medical field as a patient care technician within the operating room before ultimately deciding to pursue a degree in medicine, specifically surgery. He then attended Auburn University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in biomedical sciences, before moving on to the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB), where he completed his medical school degree. Dr. Gilchrist then completed his general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he also completed a year of research, contributing to the fields of general surgery, pediatric surgery, and trauma.
His practice will focus on general surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic minimally invasive procedures. Dr. Gilchrist is looking forward to serving the Auburn and Opelika area and helping patients achieve a better quality of life.
Outside of his practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, watching Auburn sports, and playing golf.

I was nervous about my diagnosis because of the lack of knowledge I had about it. Dr. Gilchrist explained the results of the MRI and Mammogram clearly. He spent a considerable time with us answering all the questions we had for him and never felt rushed! We were quite satisfied with the time we spent with him.
Dr. Gilcrest is an amazing surgeon. The surgical Clinic is efficient and professional. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour and a half and never felt rushed when talking to Dr. Gilcrest or his nurse. The front desk staff were friendly and very efficient.
