Dr. Scott Ruder, MD

Dr. Ruder was born and raised on a farm in central Illinois. His fondest childhood memory is leading his team to the local Little League championship at age 12. He was valedictorian of his high school class and then attended Illinois Wesleyan University, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. He graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, completed an internship at Ravenswood Hospital in Chicago, then went to UC San Diego for his Psychiatry Residency. He has over thirty years of experience in the practice of psychiatry and forensic psychiatry, and has been board certified in both disciplines. As Medical Director he is proud to supervise such an outstanding group of nurse practitioners. In his free time he is an avid pickleball player and enjoys hiking and spending time with his wife and dogs Theo and Mina.
