I am a retired physician visiting Hilton Head, I developed an acute problem with my hip. We called the BOSS office and were able to see Dr. Scott Strohmeyer in couple of hours. The entire office staff was excellent, very professiShow moreonal and everything was done in a timely manner. Dr. Strohmeyer was very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, helpful and very easy to talk to. He explained my problem, I received expedited treatment and was referred to Physical Therapy. About Dr. Strohmeyer
Scott E. Strohmeyer, MD, is board certified in orthopaedic surgery, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adult and pediatric spinal disorders. He is proud to serve patients at Beaufort Orthopaedic Sports & Spine in Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head, South Carolina.
After graduating with honors from Auburn University, Dr. Strohmeyer received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama (USA). He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery from USA and completed his fellowship training in spine surgery at Louisiana State University.
Dr. Strohmeyer’s clinical interests include all disorders of the degenerative spine. He has a special interest in conservative non-operative treatment of spinal disorders, which allows his patients to continue an active lifestyle. When possible, Dr. Strohmeyer utilizes minimally invasive techniques to ensure a quick recovery.
He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the North American Spine Society and South Carolina Spine Society. He continues to be active with the AO Foundation in teaching new advances in spinal care and new surgical techniques.
Dr. Strohmeyer is married to Dr. JoAnn Csakany, a board-certified OB/GYN, and they have two daughters, Abigail and Mary Alice.

Dr. Strohmeyer was very pleasant and listened to my history. The wait time to be seen was very short. The only reason I checked “would not recommend to someone else “is the treatment for my problem is physical therapy and that is not yet scheduled.
I like that he is direct and to the point. He made my diagnosis, explained treatment and answered all my questions. Exactly what I wanted. Recommend him highly.
He was brusque and loud. He also was angry at a patient and complained loudly to a staff member who informed him of the patient’s situation. Just not a pleasant man
Dr. Strohmeyer was able to see me quickly, diagnose my problem, and relieve the pain.
5 days after surgery I was in a lot of pain and worried about it. The office got me in right away. Took X-ray and said everything looked good. Prescribed steroids and follow-up in 2 weeks.
He was very knowledgeable and friendly. I felt confident he can solve my shoulder injury.
