Shayla Buckler, DNP, PMHNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing with over 20 years of experience in clinical, academic, and leadership roles. She provides personalized psychiatric medication management to adolescents and adults using evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches, with a focus on mental health and substance use disorders. She conducts comprehensive assessments, manages psychotropic medications, and collaborates with therapists and healthcare providers to create individualized treatment plans. Her work includes psychoeducation, crisis intervention, and supporting community integration, while promoting best practices and medication safety. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and is committed to improving outcomes for underserved populations. She also teaches and mentors nursing students through university faculty roles.
