My counseling philosophy focuses on personal growth and self-awareness, using a blend of progressivist and eclectic approaches. I view human development as an ongoing process, and counseling should adapt to meet clients’ changing needs. Inspired by progressivism, I see therapy as an active learning process in which clients explore, reflect, and develop problem-solving skills. This approach emphasizes critical thinking, self-awareness, and adaptability, ensuring clients play an active role in their healing (Dewey, 1938). My goal is not just symptom management but helping individuals build the skills to navigate life’s challenges independently.
