Skylar Giarusso

Skylar is passionate about psychology, specifically mental health counseling. Her overall goal is to provide the best care for her clients while creating an environment that is both safe and nonjudgmental. Skylar is very compassionate toward her clients, and wants them to feel her genuine concern for them and their overall well-being. When working with Skylar, you will see how important her clients are to her and how she values her therapeutic relationship with them. Her therapeutic approach is person-centered, which allows the client to lead the conversation and focus on what they are most concerned about. It is Skylar’s hope that using this approach allows the client to ultimately improve their self-esteem and gain self-acceptance. She also incorporates cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) strategies into her sessions to further help her clients with their therapy goals. Skylar has experience working with those who experience anxiety, general stressors, or adjustment problems. Skylar also specializes in communication issues and self-esteem issues. Skylar can assist her clients in their ability to cope with stressors by implementing different coping skills and tools during visits.
