Santa Monica Bay dental lived up to all the good reviews that I’ve read about them. I had a dental emergency, and my regular dentist’s office had reduced hours because of the covid-19 quarantine and couldn’t see me for 3 weeks. Show moreSo I called SM Bay Dental and they agreed to help me during a noon hour opening later the same week. The office is immaculately clean and well prepared for safe work during the pandemic. All the staff members wear masks and work behind Plexiglas shields in the reception area. They are very friendly, well-organized, and professional, however, and they were able to get me into an exam room within just 1-2 minutes after my arrival. When they give you an appointment, you are encouraged to fill in all the pre-visit questionnaires on their website prior to the visit, so there is almost no paperwork to slow down the reception process. After pulling up my records, a nurse gave me some hand sanitizer and then escorted me into an exam room almost immediately after entering the office. In the exam room, she asked me some more details about my symptoms and then took some digital x-rays of the problem area. Their technology is all new and top rate. So Dr. Face was well prepared to start the diagnostic process as soon as he walked into the room. I liked him right away. He was patient and genuinely interested in all the background information that I could give him. It was a difficult problem, radiologically, with no clear area of decay, but he offered a two-step process to solve the problem with the least expensive remedy first, before going to the more invasive options. It is a great practice. I can see why our friends recommended SM Bay Dental to us.
The initial examination and recording of my current state of dental health by technical assistant Luis and Dr. Face in person seemed very thorough and only minimally uncomfortable (but that is normal for the radiological portion oShow moref the exam, and much less than in earlier times; in other words, some discomfort cannot be avoided). Next, Dr. Face reviewed the images; explained things thoroughly; identified a problem area in one tooth; recommended a corrective procedure, which I readily acknowledged should be performed. Dr. Face's manner and diagnosis put me at ease, and I feel very comfortable with him, going forward. Of course, when he starts working on that tooth, that level of favorability may change ... LOL (Don't you just hate seeing LOL?) Finally, I transitioned to the hygienist for my semi-annual cleaning. These appointments have usually been booked with a hygienist named Charlotte. She was not available, so Lauren did the honors. If the experience of having one's teeth cleaned can ever be pleasant, this was it. Had I not needed to keep my mouth open, I could have napped through the whole procedure. Overall, I think SM Bay Dental has a lot of really good people in which they take justifiable pride. It is the place to go if you want to attain and/or maintain oral health.

Dr. Face completed continuing education courses at the Spear Institute in Scottsdale, Arizona and the Midwest Implant Institute in Ohio to further support his goal of excellence in cosmetic and full-mouth rehabilitation dentistry. With years of experience with two generations of digital scanning and milling technology, he is an expert in providing same-day crowns.
With a deep desire to give back to the community, Dr. Face has served at the Union Gospel Mission, providing dental care for the homeless population, and has also volunteered at KidSMILES, providing free dental care to children.
In his free time, Dr. Face enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, working out, and watching college football. He especially likes to cheer for his Washington Huskies football team. Go Dawgs!

I'm delighted by the results of my recent crown installation. Dr. Face is probably my all-time favorite dentist. His impressive skill, gentle manner and ability to clearly explain what's going on and all the options and trade-offs is reassuring and very appreciated. I was equally impressed with his assistant Jessica (Jennifer?) whose attentiveness to my needs while assisting Dr. Face skillfully was wonderful. They coordinated as a finely-tuned team. It was very satisfying to have my crown completed in one visit, no doubt a result of your facility's substantial technological investments. Finally, all of the staff from the front desk to Pablo were friendly, interested in my experience and made a genuine human connection.
