Dr. Fisher graduated Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors in Biology and Anthropology. He also obtained his Medical Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Following his medical education, Dr. Fisher completed an internal medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed a clinical and research Cardiology Fellowship at the Medical Center of/ University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont.
Dr. Fisher worked as a cardiologist and NIH funded research scientist at academic medical centers (AMC) for 30 years prior to joining Cardiology Associates of Frederick, initially in Cleveland , OH and subsequently at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
He was active in all activities at the AMC including teaching/training physicians and cardiologists of the future, developing new understanding of and therapies for cardiovascular disease, and taking care of patients as a general cardiologist. The doctor’s care was terrible; he didn’t explain my test results to me and spent the entire time with his back turned toward me. It was truly frustrating—I wasted my time going to that appointment, and I will never return.
